Demis pop/rock IS way ahead and better than the other disney starts bc demi was always a lover of that genre! They knew what they were doing 😭

I gasped in excitement when i saw this video was uploaded!!! HWGA is such a comfort album for me. Demi wrote “Catch Me” by herself in her bedroom at 16 years old. If you hear the song again she pronounces “hypnotizing” like “hypmatizing” because she thought thats how the word was 😂 John Mayer co-wrote “World of Chances” with Demi and it’s about their birth father.

the last 2 tracks are bonus tracks (Gift of a Friend was made as a soundtrack for a Tinkerbell movie) and added later to the album, that's why they sound so different lol. the actual last track is "Everything You're Not"!

LOLL gift of a friend was for the tinker bell movie or something idk why they added it to the track list 😂😂 I burst out laughing at your reaction

They actually added it to fill a gap because they initially had “For the Love of a Daughter” on this album and decided to pull it because they thought the subject matter was too mature. The track released on Unbroken was actually a re-recorded version.

the last two songs were gonna be: Shut Up and Love Me and For the Love of a Daughter however Disney thought these songs were deemed too mature for her audience at the time so they got replaced for Gift Of a Friend and So Far So Great

What a FUCKING album. When people talk about pop rock perfection, this has to be on their list cuz it hasn't been talked about enough, especially or an album that hit No.1 on the Billboard 200 back then. It truly needs a reappraisal down the line.

My boyfriend was a typical emo/ punk/ metal kid but that never listened to Disney. I introduced him to demi and this album and he is now a fan. We were so thrilled when holy fvck and revamped came out

I still can't believe she did this whole album at 16, she's amazing.

this reaction reiterates how much i love this album, as good as the others are there is truly not a single miss here. also, sonny with a chance is funnier to me as an adult than it was to me as a kid. don’t get me wrong, it is still very cheesy, but it definitely has it’s moments. it also deserved a third season and almost 15 years later i’m still pissed about being left on a cliffhanger

This entire album goes HARD. Even gift of a friend and so far so great which were songs that Disney strong armed Demi into putting in so she could market their products. Lol

Everyone's probably raving about the actual album songs but I 100% agree with you that So Far So Great is a blast 😂 I have very good memories of watching the show, it was fun. Demi always had good comedy chops, especially during that time when she had The Great Smile 😁😂😂

I stand by this is her best album to date…. Got Dynamite is my second favorite Demi song. My absolute favorite is on the first album (Until Your Mine).

I swear, we appreciate all the same songs in every album. Also, I so agree with your comment about "Breakout." As a fan of both Miley's and Demi's around the time this album was released, HWGA definitely felt much more personal and like the artist had a heavier hand on the production. This is probably why I had HWGA on repeat more than Breakout (and also why HWGA is up there on my list of fave Demi albums). We're almost to the final/first album! LOVED THIS, BESSSIEE!! P.S. "Gift of a Friend" was for a Tinkerbell movie, that's why it sounds super Disney-like hahaha

HWGA has always been my favourite Demi album - I've stood by it fiercely even throughout her rnb/pop eras and never forgotten how good it is! But seeing you react to it has given me a new level of appreciation for each song and how well they're crafted! They're all such rollercoasters and the production is so slick and neat.
