2 division champ, but nice try. And I'm a Benavidez fan who was rooting for David. A lot of people thought Andrade would pull off the upset.

I thought Demetrius Andrade was just another bum who lost to Benavides but he actually has good ring IQ, hand foot coordination, and his defense is pretty decent. He just got caught with that good clean shot and really wasn't able to recover and make proper adjustments and his fatigue wore him down in the later rounds Congratulations to both men👍👍👏👏👏👏

The way Andrade fans hyped him you'd think he was a super middleweight Floyd when he was never that guy. His combinations were mostly sloppy and ineffective with most being blocked. His biggest punch comes when he's loading up on winging shots but that only works against 2nd and 3rd tier guys lol, and he tends to get sloppy and leave himself out of position. If Benavidez was a better counterpuncher he could have handled him more efficiently and timed him up with something big.

He became the first 4 belt undisputed at 168 and challenged 2 of the 3 Russian champs at 175 while the 3 of them have never fought each other once despite fighting there their entire careers. Then you have Benavidez who publicly ducked unifications with Plant and Smith, dumped his belt twice, and ducked another title shot at 175 even after blowing weight by 3 pounds.

For any of you saying Andrade Quit…. You know nothing of boxing. Benavides is a Special Fighter - There will not be another exactly like him. We need to be in reality - These punches can devastate someone, it is literally a risk of death or brain disfunction to stand toe to toe with him…. Especially a middle weight in the end of his career.. When Canelo fought for much of his early career he was a welter weight (147lb), ending the last 3-4 yrs as a super middle (168lb). Benavides is ready, and should be the third great Light Heavy Weight - ( Bivol, Beterbiev and then Benavides ). 3 B’s of Light Heavy Weight.. These three elites are a different level than Canelo and Andrade. I truly like Canelo and Crawford - I want to see these two masters go toe to toe… This is the legendary fight that Canelo can go down on his shield with dignity - If it happens that way. But he could also win because he is a solid 160 and would hydrate well to protect him somewhat. Crawford is strong - He could handle 160lbs. And he is in his ultimate prime. They are the “BoxRec” number 1 & 2 pound for pound…. Please make this fight…. They both deserve it…

According to compubox and any other relevant stats Benavides is less hit than any boxer in 168 including canelo also Benavides hits his opponents more than anyone in boxing.
