I think this is playing the idea of Ralsei being the red horned headband Kris used to pretend being a monster.

It's part of a longer comic, Kris let Gaster borrow is soul and in return gaster summon the player to take control of Kris (he is most likely depressed and was tired of being responsible for his life)

@@AkaiAzul Pretty sure that's just a pattern on Ralsei's clothes. But yes, the Ao3 notes on this chapter imply that Ralsei is indeed Kris' soul

God damn it, I knew it, every time Ralsei tells Kris to close their eyes, he is using that opportunity to reach out to the real Kris, without the Player tampering with their actiosns, this is heartbreaking.

It really reminds me of another comic (which Prime also did), in chapter 1 when Kris and Ralsei are in jail, and Kris starts freaking out about the player controlling them while Ralsei tries to calm them down.

OMG YES! A comic that treats Kris and Ralsei as a part of the same being! It may not be what the comic means considering the previous dubbing, but since I heard the theory that Rals is the diadem with pink horns in the light world I like to believe that it is a representation of what Kris wants to become: A being who, despite his abandonment complex, is the perfect partner/friend/son that exists. Even in appearance, he is perfect for the place that Kris has in his town! As if Kris had taken everything he thought would make his life easier and placed it in that headband because it made him feel like a monster, just like everyone in Hometown.

This has that " Just think of it like this, someone who was your friend for a while" vibes.

Ralsei actually being Asriel might actually be an interesting theory. full shoutout to the comic creator for that!

Thaaat's not the twist of the comic. In the previous chapter Kris temporarily gives away their soul in a deal with Gaster. It's implied (especially in the author's notes) that Kris' sould became Ralsei

Yeesh, that's a scary revelation.

I just realized that Ralsei brings attention to the heart symbol on his chest. I think he's implying that he's Kris's original Soul?

Sooooooo... If I get it right, Ralsei is Kris' original Sou. In the last comic Kris made a pact with Gaster who summoned the Player to inhabit Kris' body through the means of the red Soul. Alright, but then when 'Ralsei' says "if things work out between you and that spirit", who is "you" here ? The spirit is the Player, Ralsei is Kris, but who is you then ? Is Kris speaking to his own soulless body ? How's that work ?

Hmmmmm, this could be playing off the idea that Frisk spilt their soul with asriel to bring them to the real world. Or it could be that Chara is here

It is a different story from Undertale: monster were never trapped underground, some of them never met each other, and they live "peacefully among the humans"...
