Alex Colledge I remember first hearing it on Mistajam's Radio 1Xtra show back in 2012. I was going on holiday a day after, so I just had to pirate it so I could listen to it over and over. this still holds up as one of the greatest dubstep tunes of all time
This is my theory: These were the board games we used to play back in the day just to get by, but as we age in life we started to get by with music wich is why the man is shredding these good ol board games and turning them into Phonograph records or disc however you wanna called them this music video is very creative and I love it, sad but true
@JL-vn7bc

Maybe as we age, we also find the one we want to love forever. There's no need to play games to fill the time we're now clawing onto.
@slipdarington4549

The creator is destroying things used to get by in times past, and in the process transforming them into a modern version of a thing used to get by. It's about using the obsolescence of the already obsolete. In this case the creator is using stop motion film to create records when cd's and digital distribution are already more mainstream. Esoteric wisdom.
@casefc3s
Жыл бұрын
@@slipdarington4549 I think it's more about how they've chipped away at their childhood innocence as they grow older, "I've had to sacrifice too many things to get by." and they use that and pour it into their music. Much more literal take on it.

You take your childhood, your experiences, your environment growing up, and you bring them with you wherever you go, in whatever you do, and in anything you make. This video feeds me some mega-nostalgia as a kid of the late-80s and 90s that these toys and gadgets were just the tools, trappings and distractions to help us survive to get where we are today.
