Dude I've worked with Delta and I can tell you first hand that that woman has a beautiful soul. She oozes grace and treats everyone with a similar level of dignity and respect regardless of who they are. Anyone telling you any different is talking nonsense. I understand she might not appeal to everyone musically but to trash talk her is just not on. Great cover of an iconic Aussie smash hit

Cocky? No way! This woman is beautiful inside and out! I accidentally bumped into her in a shop and she was with her then boyfriend Nick Jonas and I literally walked into her without even realising it was her and she said sorry to me then I said sorry very quickly because it was my fault and then I realised it was her and my mouth dropped open and then we both started laughing because the look on my face must’ve been hilarious! She was very sweet and kind

I believe the person who may have thought Delta was cocky could've been "suffering" from Tall Poppy Syndrome. "The tall poppy syndrome is a cultural phenomenon in which people hold back, criticise, or sabotage those who have or are believed to have achieved notable success in one or more aspects of life." Delta fits the criteria as being very successful in many aspects (singer/songwriter, actress, cancer survivor, mentor on The Voice) but certainly doesn't deserve the vitriol thrown her way. She has worked extremely hard to get her success and always has time for her fans and charity work. An example of her generosity has been performing weekly mini concerts online in the absence of live music through the pandemic and a way of connecting people in a positive way through a very difficult time. As an Aussie, it's sad to see that people (many of them fellow Australians) can't just be happy for her.

At 19 she had a battle with cancer & last year at 32 she had to learn to speak and sing again after surgery to remove a salivary gland resulted in a damaged nerve in her tongue.Check out the videos of her on her YT channel in the hospital worrying that her voice will never come back. Just heartbreaking. Her voice is noticeably different from before the surgery. It used to be lighter and more delicate. The speech impediment the accident left her with was quite severe. I cannot emphasise what an achievement it is that she can sing at all, let alone as well as she does.Girl has serious moxie.

This is Delta with her boyfriend Matt on guitar. You gotta hear her sing this with Colin Hay - the original singer of this iconic Aussie song. And as for Delta being 'cocky'...utter crap. One of the best Aussie singers, humble to a fault and never a more patriotic person you will find. She survived cancer at 19 and then recently suffered tongue paralysis after an operation. Confidence may seem cocky to those who seek to bring others down to their level. Personally, I think she is bloody brilliant!

I don't know her personally but I went along to many recordings of the voice in the years that Delta was a coach (she left last year). She always seemed down to earth. Some coaches would do a quick wave to the audience as they left at the end of the show. But she always stopped for people and interacted and was the last to leave. (Keith Urban was cool like that too as is Guy Sebastian. Have run into Guy many times. He's always lovely).

On the topic of who Delta sounds like, a lot of people say she sounds like Celine Dion, and I definitely think it comes out when she sings in her higher range. There's a clip of her doing a Celine impression on the Voice and it's a perfect imitation. Delta in fact wrote a song for Celine called 'Eyes On Me' many many years ago and provided background vocals on that track as well.

Man, I will just say, not just being parochial but I truly think our singers and bands from Australia, along with the crowds and music appreciators - are the best in the world. Sure, only a few artists, bands etc. have delved into the international scene but we don't need them to be mega famous, just to give us good live music and performances. So many overseas artists love coming here.... Pink one of the main ones - who truly love the Aussie attitude. :)

Come to think of it, it's impressive how our small population of 20 odd million has managed to produce so many world-class singers. We've got John Farnham, Olivia Newton John, Delta Goodrem, Guy Sebastian, Matt Corby, Stan Walker (I know he's Kiwi but he was on Australian Idol) and Jessica Mauboy. There's probably a couple more that I've forgotten. Our indie/alternative music scene is also amazing -- we've got some of the best music festivals here, and personally some of my favourite bands are Australian and they actually do quite well internationally, especially in Europe. It's such a shame that very few mainstream Australian artists manage to break into the international market.

This song that is looked upon as a "National Anthem" of Straya but it's actually a song putting shit on ourselves, we as a population love nothing more than to laugh & make fun ourselves... Anyone else from any other country that tries to shit on us as a laugh is warned to tread gently. Our sport, music, life, way of life, history, present, future, customs, sense of humour, language, wildlife, even our food & drink is all so extremely unique, we just aren't on the other side of the world, we are pretty much from a diff planet, nobody understands us except for mainly our siblings across the"ditch" the Kiwi's. A song more as a national anthem to us would be Khe Sahn by Cold Chisel & Great Southern Land by Icehouse as we do live in the Great Southern Land & I'm so proud to do so & "bogan?". Yep I'm proud to admit that too

I am also a bogan and proud of it, I hate that so many these days want to shy away from our heritage. Give me a VB, A Four and Twenty pie, a game of footy any day of the week. I maybe uncultured but dont give a stuff what people think. Australia in the 70's was a great time to grow up as was our pub and club scene in the 80's. I feel we lost something when we tried to be more European or Americanised. I remember the yuppies in the 80's and I blame then. LOL The Painters and Dockers got it right with their anthem " Die Yuppie Die" Now its the Yuppies kids the hipsters that need a clip around the ears. She did a good job with this. She has a great voice.

Wanna find another Aussie? Go anywhere in the world. Walk into any bar or pub. Stand up and sing "well I left me heart to the sappers round..." And listen for the "Khe Sahn". Or sing "am I ever gonna see your face again" and listen for the response 😆

her performance of this version of a all time Australian classic is absolutely memorable, she does a duet with original songwriter, Colin Hay, in a charity event that blew everyone away. Then you should also look at how the original was performed to see how vastly different it was arranged.

Some people love to hate on her, but she is the sweetest person and will do anything for her fans. You also have to remember that this performance was live from her living room during lockdown, and 18 months before this she literally lost her voice and didn’t know if she would ever be able to talk again
