This is the final episode to my Detroit trip back in the spring. This flight was delayed 3 hours due to storms in Memphis (MEM). Those storms would eventually cause all of ATL and subsequently Delta Airlines to have the major shut down that happened. This flight happened the day before the storms came.
On this flight I had a great seat just in front of the awesome JT8D's! (I would sit on rows 31-35 if you want a great view of them on Delta's MD88's. Avoid 32 on the left side since there isn't a window seat because of the exit row.) Sitting close to the engines isn't as loud as you may think. My phone was right up against the window so it made it louder. The sound and the feel from these engines is just amazing! I live for the moments I'm on an MD80! if only you saw that big stupid smile that came across my face when those full reversers opened up! My god that was amazing!!! It was a completely full flight and not many spare seats. The mighty MD80 had no trouble shooting up like a rocket into the air with its steep climb! It was a very bumpy ride for the first leg of the trip since we were passing through the Jetstream. Someone in the flight deck had a stuck mic and we could hear him telling tower we were getting hammered haha. Overall a great flight with an amazing flight crew. They even cheered up the baby that was sitting next to me! Babies are cute to their parents, but give everyone else a freakin hernia haha.
Thanks for watching! Check out some of my other videos from this trip!

Perfect seats. I'm sure most people wanting to make a video on this type of plane try to get these seats.

Nice catch of the end-around at ATL which avoids taxi and runway crossings.
