Dell Premier Wireless Keyboard & Mouse Review

Ғылым және технология

The Dell KM717 may be the best wireless keyboard and mouse combo I have ever used. The premium build quality and killer features separate it from the pack.

Thanks for the review. I recently switched desktops to a Lenovo 510. Great desktop but the included K/M was wired and I prefer a wireless setup. I was previously using a Surface Pro with docking station and the MS Surface Keyboard and Mouse. The were both really nice but due to the BT connection, the keyboard would sometimes drop strokes. I ordered the Lenovo 500 pair and the day it came in, I found your video. Given your excellent review, (and the keyboards similarities to the MS Surface keyboard) I ordered it from Amazon ($77) and was able to return the Lenovo 500. Well it's been a week with the Dell and I have to say you were spot on! This is one of the best keyboards I have ever used. The travel is perfect and the extra added bonus of being able to be connected the 3 separate machines without a KVM is awesome. Once again many thanks for the review. You did good!

Thanks or the video. I love this combo I do have it but just 1 problem I use it in USB mode on Win10 Desktop PC and tried it on Win7 on a laptop. But the Caps Lock Light and the Num Lock light go to sleep after about 7 SECONDS. Very annoying because you can't tell whether the Caps &/or Num lock is on or off. Do you get the same results? I rang Dell about this and they had no workable answer. But I did find something about a setting in control panel in HID devices to disable the power saving mode on the device... but it made no difference. Any tips greatly appreciated.

I was HIGHLY skeptical but I used your link and purchased myself a set. I am super impressed by both...perfect for using on my workbench and switching between PCs. The typing is amazing on this...I have bad hand and it is getting painful for me to use Mech keyboards (which I love) but this is just fantastic! Thanks for the recommend!

I purchased this keyboard and mouse set and after a few months usage I started to experience very bad issues with the signal. The keyboard input was fine and then suddenly stopped communicating with the PC, typing lots of repeated characters upon reconnection. Could not find a solution. The mouse worked fine, but started squeaking badly after a few months of use. I RMAd both and still looking for something with the same typing feel. Just skeptical to spend 90+$ (EU price) for this set again...

I've had thoughts of getting a new keyboard/mouse combo, and just saw the advertisement for the Logitech MK470. However, that doesn't appear to be available yet in the U.S. Also, i'm not super crazy about Logitech's drivers and software, given it's failed me a few times. With that said, I forgot about this combo from Dell, and the KM717 definitely looks worth the investment, so I think I'm going to spend some hard-earned money grabbing this Keyboard/Mouse combo in the coming weeks. Thanks for sharing! Much appreciated!

maybe visually - but the MX Master 2S is the best mouse on the market (if you're not a gamer)... best keyboard has to be mechanical, those new short profile switches like in the upcoming corsair keyboards look great. I have short profile mechanical in my gaming laptop and it is the best notebook keyboard I've ever used by miles. So I think these short profile wireless mechanical keyboards will be great. I had a rapoo keyboard that looked similar to this dell one, it was very sleek but still can't compare to mechanical ones. Of course all this only matters if you type a lot.

This review was so glowing that it blew out my budget for a keyboard and mouse by almost 100%. Happily, everything you said about it is true. It is a great keyboard to type on, and the mouse surprised me by gliding over my mousepad with very little resistance given how small the contact patches are. I find the keys are a touch closer together than on my Logitech keyboard, so a small degree of learning is necessary. The only thing I miss is the backlighitng on the old keyboard, but this is so superior in every other way that I am delighted with my purchase. Thanks for a terrific and accurate review.

If you like the flatter chiclet style keys, you will love the keyboard. I personally like the mouse a lot for casual use, but it may take some getting used to.

Was deciding between a few cheaper options but after seeing this video I’ve decided to order this “more expensive” keyboard and mouse combo online and I expect it to be delivered tomorrow. I wanted a keyboard to increase my typing efficiency and I think I’ve made the right decision. Will post another comment after I’ve started using it ..

Don't. First google this and see how many people are facing the bad firmware issue, me included. "KM717 bluetooth keyboard won't go into pairing mode"

It looks like the keyboard on its own without the mouse is the WK717. Is anyone able to confirm that?

Best keyboard for me is still my dell SK-8115 from 15 years ago, haven't been able to find a cheap non-mechanical keyboard that's been able to top that one.

I was very close to picking a Logitech one, probably the G613. I had a feel for it though but just couldn't get used to the regular-sized space bar. The old Dell keyboard had a big spacebar you could rest your thumbs on, it felt sublime.
