Dell Latitude 5540 In Depth FULL Review
In this video I'll be reviewing upgrading a new Dell Latitude 5540. Ill be testing this Business Grade Laptop computer in this in-depth review before and after upgrading to a WD Black SN 770 1TB SSD to see not only how good this Dell Latitude 5540 really is out the box, and how good it can potentially be once upgraded. Tests will include Boot Time Speed Testing as well as App Speed Test, Internet Video Streaming, Graphics Card, WiFi speed and strength based on an overall user experience operational example.
The Dell Laptop computer see next to this one in this video is a Dell Latitude 7490 with an 8th Gen i5 CPU, Upgraded 16GB RAM and a WD Black SN850X 1 TB SSD. I'll be making a video on this computer shortly. 💯

Thank you so much man, I found decided to get a laptop and it was actually this one, no research and no video reviews. I did watch a lot of reviews of other laptops especially the Lenovo like X1 carbon or T14s but they're so goddamn expensive
hey quick question. upgrading the ssd vs increasing the ram to 32 gb [assuming this 5540 can be be ram upgraded?] , which one would help speed up multitasking better? thank you for the great video!

I’m always gonna lean towards SSD because the OS in its entirety is running off the SSD and a faster SSD with a higher quality memory controller in it will give you a noticeable performance/speed increase immediately in comparison to when multitasking comes into play once your initial RAM is already in use. Go with Samsung or WD Black if you can. Hope this helps my friend. 🙏

@TechInsomnia thanks a lot. The only downside for me personally is ill have to reinstall everything OS and apps from scratch after changing the ssd lol

I know the feeling but on a positive note, things do tend to bog and pile up in windows over time on average depending on your usage and a refresh/update on a fresh drive is sometimes a welcomed inconvenience. Sometimes I use it as a chance to reorganized my files during backup and declutter. 💯 Remember to install WD Dashboard if you go with WD SSD. Let me know how it goes my friend. 🙏

I did mine to 40gb so is ok, exactly the same model
I disagree that the default SSD speed being good. That was mediocre. Glad you updated the SSD. Far better speed. The CPU is good for routine office work. Geekbench 6 test scores are 2200/8200 for single & multi-core performance. Add on the many ports, and it is an excellent work laptop.

Will it support 130W power adapter, can I use the Dell 130W USB-C charger for this model (5540), or it will support only upto 100W charger?

If I put a charger that is lower than 130w I get an error message but it still charges (slower though)
