    I’ve had mine for about 2 months now and I can say it’s fantastic for the money. I play lots of Modern Warfare and in regular multiplayer I average around 160fps and in warzone I get around 100 which is still pretty good considering that I’m playing at max settings. It does run pretty hot but I just bought a laptop cooling pad with 3 fans off amazon and it seems to be fine. No throttling so far, and I got the upgraded version so converting files and things like that is a breeze. I definitely recommend this laptop, it’s really a powerhouse for what it costs

    Love the shirt man! Great band. Awesome video. I have an Alienware m15r2 and it also runs at 100C on the cpu under load. Dell told me that is fine and designed that way. They said the power/thermal system is designed to being adjusting voltages once cpu hits 100C. I personally find this odd as other laptop manufacturers are running the same hardware with cooler temps (i.e. Razer).

    Thanks for the video! Something important about usb 2.0. , some old devices don't work properly with the usb 3.0, for example I once had a usb gamepad which pretty much refused to work with usb 3.0, the systen didn't see it, even though I had all drivers installed and tried 2 differerent ports. On both 2.0 ports on the same laptop that gamepad worked flawlessly. another fact to defend this theory - my old. super cheap 2011 laptop already had 2 usb 3.0-s. so I don't think it costs anymore to install 3.0 rather than 2.0. Heck, 2.0 could even be more expensive now given how old it is.

    The G5 SE runs hot due to a firmware bug forcing the CPU to nearly 100w when it's not needed. Bios 1.3.0 was just released and the machine is much more optimized, lower temperatures, more performance, etc. I'd ignore this review because he's using old drivers. He should be using BIOS 1.3.0 & AMD Adrenalin 20.10.10. He isn't and isn't updating the machine for over a month. Just using old reviews he already did. Here's a good post on someone who's been looking into the G5 SE and optimizing it. It's a great user guide on optimizing this system. "In short, the current SmartShift firmware forces the CPU to pull 80w-107w when the RX5600M is engaged pushing Thermals to 106c+" (older bios) www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/hmjuxy/i_finally_got_my_dell_g5_15_es_4800hrx5600m/

    As a Dell G5 i7 10750h RTX 2070 owner I reported the temps to Dell and they replaced the fans and Heatsink which the engineer said didn't actually need doing. He replaced the thermal paste and no non turbo boost temps are 80 degrees stable in fortnite at max settings and around 85-90 with turbo boost on. Will update if my findings change. Laptop cooler takes the temps down further 5-10 degrees.

The area around power button are like super duper hot couldn't even slide my fingers, made me doubt if the plastic is retaining heat longer than other brands. The fans won't kick in until the temps hits around 55°C on my device, even then just stays at 50% and turns off after the temps hit 54 or 53°C.

    USB 2.0 helps with some older gaming peripherals like Logitech HOTAS or the Saitek Warthog, along with many Steering Wheels. Some of these won't work properly on a USB 3.0 interface and use older USB controllers. I imagine that's why they left the port there in a gaming laptop, so you won't have to worry about peripheral compatibility.

I don't think it's to save money. www.newegg.com/gigabyte-x570-aorus-xtreme/p/N82E16813145158 The actual connection component in bulk costs about the same. 50c-90c They already have the 3.0 controller, which is the expensive part, and makes the decision all that much stranger. It's also typically only a feature(regression?) on gaming motherboards. Maybe someone was trying to be clever?

    Hello, the acer helios 300 seemed to be one of the best mid range gaming laptops in 2019. Unfortunately I cannot find one with the rights spec (rtx2060, i7 9750h, 16gb RAM, 17inches) at a decent price in France. IS there an equivalent to this laptop in 2020 in the 1000-1500 euros price range? Ty

    Thanks for the detailed review, I’m a reasonably happy owner of the top spec model and it’s great in every game I’ve thrown at it. The temperatures have got slightly better with the newer Dell BIOS 1.3.0 update so worth checking out. Edit: yeah it does run hot, I use a cooling pad which helps a bit.

    I have purchased a Dell G3 3590 with I7 and GTX 1660ti max q, but he arrived with the monitor and the hinge crooked to right, I searched in a forum and others users have the same problem, not like me, but in 2 or 3 months the hinges starting to make noises when opening or closing the notebook, ant starts to open the border with the logo G3 in back, and I a little afraid if this is gonna happen too ;-;

    Maybe, but according to Dell they already use decent quality paste so probably not really worth the time given how much more important videos I need to make first. Setting level won't matter that much as the hardware inside will just run at full speed, unless you cap the frame rate.

    Hey Jarrod, In my country _lenovo idepad gaming 3_ (base variant Ryzen 5, GTX 1650, 120 hz) costs almost USD $990 and Acer Nitro base variant with 60 hz costs almost same. On the other hand, _Dell G5 SE 2020_ (base variant, Ryzen 5, RX 5600M, 60 hz) costs USD $1177. Which one should I go for to get best value for money (specially I had to do some graphical works and rendering) My purposes : CSE/Engineering/IT things, High Performance, Gaming, Graphical Tasks, rendering, productivity. Much love.❤ (I know it might be difficult and confusing for you to recommend this machines at these price points but I live in the country of sh*t.)
