After my laptop was eaten by a shark, I didn't know how to fix tech. Then I had a dream in which a ghostly figure told me, "you fix tech". I immediately watched all your videos and now I caught that shark and forced it to watch all your videos too. The shark and I are now happily married and I ended up buying a used Macbook Pro instead. Sir, I need an advice here... I got a G3 15 with 4gb out of the box, so the question is: Is it okay for me to add a 8gb to the 2nd slot, which will give a total of 12gb, right? Is good or bad?

depends my friend, if you are going to use it for gaming go with 4GB on both but if you want to use it for application go with 8gb . the reason is that if you add the same Gb and same Hz you get something called duo channel memory that is much faster. but if you add different type of rams you dont get the duo channel mode but you get bigger storage on ram. i would personally get 8gb x2 same model same HZ 16GB ram recommended: amzn.to/2PPoSfb

Yes my friend you can place a 3000 and the bios will adjust it self to the max Hz that it can handle

i put 16 x2 chips and it only shows them as 16gb is something wrong with the laptop?

Have you tested your recommended 16GB ram in the comments ? Just want to make sure that one will work. Also they give many options on amazon , will the 2400MZ C16 style work?

i have done the ram upgrade with Corsair Memory Kit 16GB DDR4 2666 C18 : amzn.to/2ZBLZgc and works like a charm, and there is no reason that it shouldn't work with 2400Mz

Your welcome Thank you Why you choose brand Crucial for (Ram & M.2) M.2 (SAMSUNG & wd) the most of space is not exactly what thy write 1Tb 899 or 933 I saw that when I am bought hardisk 1TB HHD RAM (hyper x & Corsair Vengeance Performance) I don't know which is the best to buy it

dont worry about the ram brands just go with what you can afford and they all will work just fine for many many years, just make sure you buy known brands like, WD samsung and or corsairs, dont get the cheap china made rams. and trust me the difference in preformance are down too .004ms we use this brand a lot in store and they are rock solid: amzn.to/3kzkVHk

2x8gb that way you get a duo channel mode automatically. and that is way better than 16gb dim amzn.to/3kziKon
