    The starboard tachometer is reading about 600-800 rpm out, I’d say you have an ignition problem for sure. If the beeping and display didn’t convince you the tach should.

    Because they have owned and maintained outboards as well as inboards and inboard/outboards. Outboards give you more usable vessel, are way easier to maintain, have a longer service life and a better power to weight ratio. I agree this sounds infinitely better but the $$$ after a few hundred hours is not even comparable for the same amount of HP.

    No wake zones in some areas are stupid tbh. A boat like that going 40+mph will have considerable less wake than when it is putting along. Not to mention the wake will be far less than huge boats attempting to go slow.

  • @mdv2043

    @mdv2043

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@tlalexander3 it boils down to common sence. Most boat owners of today especially sence boat sales have exploded during the pandemic have little or no experience at all operating boats . The law states a boat operator is liable for damage from the wake his vessel throws in any circumstance. Now I see people taking it appon them selves to post no wake signs on their own without a ordinance being passed and that is illegal as well. But like I stated most of these people on the water need to get into a boaters safety class. I have seen alot of bone head moves and no regard to safety , other boaters or property in the last yr . I have been operating boats for close to 40 yrs and it gets worse everyday.

  • @tlalexander3

    @tlalexander3

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@mdv2043 Oh yes I highly agree. I don't have the chance to operate a boat in a situation like this but I do go fishing on small-large lakes around 3-4 times a week. I've had brand new wake boarding boats come 100 feet from me when I have been fishing and almost throw me out of the boat. In fact, that actually happened last week at one of my local lakes. A wakeboard boat came close to another bass fisherman and he fell off. When he fell off, the boat actually beat the whole left side of him. He was pinned basically on top of the water and the boat came down on him multiple time. This resulted in a half swollen face and very swollen arm. Lately what really pisses me off are the wake boarding boats going just outside the no wake buoys continuously like their wake doesn't travel... I've had my boat banged against the dock and even one time it untied my boat. I happened to turn around and it was floating near the ramp about to get smashed down on the concrete ramp. And just last week it was nearly impossible to hook my winch to the eye of the boat because the boat was slamming up and down on the bow roller. I was scared my arm would get caught between there and do some serious damage. I was highly pissed off... Now NC wildlife is asking you to turn in people who come within 200 feet of any object (boat, dock, etc) and anyone who does not obey the no wake zones. More importantly you are supposed to take a video. They are actually in the process of trying to ban wake boats on my small home lake because they are greatly degrading the shore. Plus these people frankly cannot drive a boat either. I'll be cruising trying to get to my next spot or the landing and they will zig zag across the entire channel. With the huge wake they produce, it is difficult me for to power through and pass without beating me and the boat to death. I guess I might start using my horn more if this continues to happen and run my GoPro on my windshield

    My ideal engine cover mechanism is the one where you press a button to the click the electronic latches, and the gas struts opens it for you but you still have to close it manually. It’s more reliable than hydraulic lifters and makes a more satisfying sound.

    These kinds of boats don't have propellers. They use jet powered engines. The engines spew out a jet of water which propells the vessel. A regular propeller has no way of spinning this fast without flying off.
