Your pies looks beautiful Gina! In my household my husband makes all of the pies. His favorite and everybody else is sweet potato pie. He prefers baking his sweet potatoes on the oven. He says this helps to keep from losing the sweet potatoes syrup. Also he adds a little bit of lemon juice into the pie filling and it's simply delicious! Everyone is crazy about his sweet potato pies, Oooh Weee, yummy!!!🤗❤

My tip is to bake your potatoes and put them in the blender or food processor. Its make a smooth batter. Thanks. For showing you recipes.

Gina you and Mae mae's are two of the very few that can really cook. I am 70 years old and I learn to cook from my Mother. My Mother's Cooking was requested by so many people. Some people are making Videos just for money but they can't cook. There's one person who became a millionaire but can't cook a Tap. All I can say is that she is very lucky.

I usually steer away from saying the "best" for most of the dishes my mom made for us -- because everybody says that -- but two things I will stand by: her potato salad and her sweet potato pies. My mom always put cinnamon, ginger, allspice, nutmeg, and cloves in her sweet potato pies and kept the sugar (brown sugar) on the lower end of content, so the sweet potato and spices were the first thing you tasted, secondary to sweet. I just wanted to come back and add to my post (I sounded like a true butt): Mrs. Young, I have watched your videos, on and off, since I first received a recommendation. Everything I have watched you make looks delicious -- and you are always so neat and organized.

Gina, that's exactly how my sister, my brother, and I de-string the sweet potatoes or yams. Our dad taught us that; he did it that way! (Some people like the deep dish pies, I prefer the traditional pie crust. So this recipe is great for either. Thanks!)

Cut the ends off it gets most of the strings out about about an inch or less

You are a sweet heart!!!! With in phases on SWEET! You are the sugar queen! I have always wondered what that pecan crumb wud taste like on top of a sweet potato pie and here it is finally!!!! But Ms Gina please be careful diabetes is a ugly disease the amount of sugar cud have been adjusted to accommodate for that extra sugar on top of the pie. 😘🥰
