For those who have an old fashioned pressure cooker you can cook the Christmas puddings in that, it cuts the cooking time dramatically and they taste every bit as good as when you steam them for 8 hours. And given that mum always had to cook 14 puddings every year (we all liked Christmas pudding, even in the summer) the pressure cooker meant she could cook them all in half the time.

I made it in a 28cm round tin, before Christmas, and 'fed' it with brandy then covered it with marzipan, white fondant, and decorated it with silver cachous and nine white candles for each decade. and a white ribbon - very simple. I received many compliments from a hundred family members who attended the party. This is our go-to Christmas cake each year. Thank you, dear lady, together with warmest regards from New Zealand.

My family is Greek and since my parents migrated in the late 60's to Melbourne, the one thing they adopted as our annual Christmas treat was the delicious Christmas Pudding. We don't have it at all another time except Christmas, and that makes it so special. This year I am looking at doing a very traditional English Christmas. We're not just Greek, we also have Japanese, Dutch, Polish so its always a mixture every time we come together. And I have to say, I don't cook anything Greek! I'm a mixed bag of whatever. this Christmas Pudding looks absolutely divine and I am definitely going to give it a crack.

I wholeheartedly agree with you and how gracious to share her home with us too! I have used her Christmas Cookbook since 1992, it's such a tradition now. Recently I have started to add a date with notes for posterity and my family 😊
I became a Food and Nutrition teacher 23 years ago because of you! I just wanted you to know that my mum died 13 years ago, and we watched all your series together on our old sofa. I have a bit of a cry when I watch this every year now she is gone, but it brings back such happy memories. Thanks Delia, what an impact you’ve had on my life! I now make food memories with my 3 children now, using your recipes.
Sure hope this stays on KZread forever because Delia and her recipes are excellent, I've never had one that doesn't work. I watch this series several times before Christmas every year and I follow her schedule every year. Makes the whole process so enjoyable, we'll done!

I remember watching this first time it was on, it has that warm and cosy feel to it and not just because of the cooking demonstrations but the wonderful glimpses of her beautiful home, so relaxing just to kick your shoes off and a nice hot cuppa and just chill out watching this and suddenly it's Christmas again. A great upload.

This is so nostalgic. As a child of the 1990s, when Delia's programmes came on at this time of year it was one of those things that really made it feel like Christmas. I miss them, but thank goodness for KZread.
I discovered this woman a few months back and I'm delighted to let you know that I quickly became the biggest fan. After a quick Google search, I learned that her cooking shows were televised in the 90s. It's no wonder why I have this sense of nostalgia while watching her videos. I grew up in the 90s (I'm almost 35 now), and how I wish Delia's shows were televised here in the Philippines. But nevertheless, thank you for uploading these videos.
Very interested to watch and learn the traditional British Christmas. Beautiful house and garden. Greetings from Japan.

Dear Delia, I just want to tell you that I made your rich fruit cake for my mother's 90th birthday in February this year.

Absolutely my favourite TV cook ever-she is wonderful, just the best. Why isn’t she on television any more?
So I am an American, and when it gets Christmas time here in the states I love to go full British for the Christmas dinner menu, unless it’s going to be a handful of guests in which case I love Swedish meatballs with cranberry sauce and creamy mashed potato. Anyway I think this obsession got started as the result of reading Charles dickens when I was in the sixth grade. I never commit to a specific entrée, but ever since that one Christmas I have fallen in love with sticky toffee pudding, it’s my goal in life to have it every holiday season.
