Shouldn't have deleted scene, this scene provides so much information as to why raghav turned out the way he is. This provides so much depth to his character and doesn't make him seem like a complete psychopath but he was made into a psychopath by his father
@anngeorge467

That's the point. If this scene had been put in, it would have turned into Raghav's redemption arc. As outstanding as this scene is, it would mean in some way justifying Raghav. I think the makers doesn't want to inherently justify Raghav, but to show that he completely SUBMITS to the evil that he has become.

He wasn't turned into a psychopath. Psychopaths are born, sociopaths are made. Sorry, I know this comment is very old. But there's a difference between the two things that people miss out on. That's what makes Raman and Raghav different. Raman didn't have a choice. Raghav did.

This monologue should be more famous than the monologue in Pyaar ka Punchnama
the best and scary scene in the movie was when raman kills his sister and then the music starts to play,

People aren't getting the point. It wasn't included because then it made it all simple, like a linear movie. The current movie actually has multiple layers and possibilities for different theories about Raghav. Raman was easily explained in the movie, about how his sister's husband tells him what she had told him about Raman. He also had very predictable actions, but Raghav. Raghav is a character with multiple layers, he is a good enough police for his position, obedient to his seniors, not too rough towards his juniors (people often insult their juniors bad, Raghav still manages to talk to them professionally and nicely). *spoiler* In the scene where he's telling Sobhita about how she should be afraid of whatever he smokes, injects himself with and how he always has a loaded gun with him. Raghav does this as means to keep her away, maybe even keep her safe from his growing insanity. As he explains in this very scene, "I have crossed so many limits in my life that now, I don't even know what's right, or what's wrong, or where do I stand." He doesn't know what he'd end up doing one day. All the killings, it makes him feel like he's in control, contradicting with the very fact that he'd always been forced to be like how his father wanted him to be. The scene where he visits his 'papa', his dad "orders" him to greet the men sitting there as if he's just a kid, just like the scene where he pulls Raghav's nose up, in a rough manner and slaps him a few times while doing so. Raghav always stays outside because going near his father, it pisses him, it reminds me of how it all started ever since he was very young, how he fell for drugs to control his frustration, problems, the fact that his childhood was ruined. Even in the scene, he's referring to his dad, respectfully as 'aap', a guy who is high and is planning to kill himself, wouldn't care to. He wants to respect his dad, but he can never hide the fact that all the relationships he ruined, people he killed, it all started because his father apparently destroyed his empathetic and soft side. It is why he plans to kill himself in the end, because he has ruined a lot but doesn't want to now. Tho in the actual movie, he doesn't, and ends up killing the other girl too, once he realizes that there's no going back from where he stands. It would have gotten complicated if she'd confessed, for Raman, Raghav and his father. He finally decides that there's no going back, it's who he is now, and gives in to his side, not living between contradictions anymore.

You are spot on. Had this scene been a part of the film, most of us would have figured out already the ending of the film, where Raman passes on the baton to Raghav. Audience would have seen the murderous streak in Raghav before Ramanna does and that would have killed the shock factor.

I don't remember if I have seen such a brilliant performance by any Indian artist in the recent times. Applause!!!
I guess this scene wasn't added in the film because it would have created sympathy for his character which might have ruined the whole plot. Just saying :) Any other explanation?

Explains the backstory. Understood why it was cut. Timing. But adds to the explanation perfectly.

Deepak Kumar from Masaan to Raghavan Singh from RR 2.0. What a fucking transformation in Vicky Kaushal. He is really a fucking genius.
Vicky just got higher on my list of favourite actors...This monologue should hv been in the film..but alas for the sake of film this scene was chopped off...Great work Vicky..hats off
Damn! This should've been in the movie. But then it looks contrived, like a scene written only to explicitly explain the character.

WHAT AN ACTOR!!!
Anurag Kashyap once confessed to having tried abusing other kids exactly the way he was abused as a child. This scene, I guess, is just an extension of this memory of his. More like an excuse for this reprehensible behaviour; it's justified because someone else did this to me too. If you observe, almost all the characters in Kashyap's movies have a complicated relationship with their parents or people close to them. The anger and frustration they've towards their parents is often misplaced and exaggerated, just like in this case. Though, if this scene was included, it could have provided a good background as to why Raghav does what he does. But there's one thing I like about Kashyap's movies and in this case, Raman Raghav, is that they are disturbingly real. A grown ass man still holding a grudge against his father, an independent woman falling for a jerk who puts god knows what inside his veins and a young girl high on adventure who decides to sleep with a stranger. It's like every person lacks judgement skills, every person is fucked up in a way.

People turn atheist, because they want to rebel against their fathers. All his films appear to be a form of rebel against the culture, society which is an extension of the family. No wonder Kashyap is an atheist.

this is vicky kaushal's best scene. Why was this deleted. His eyes are so perfect in this. Couldnt have been any better
This scene is good as a standalone, but once i try to imagine it in the present movie, it seems there is no place for this. Raghav's character is better as is, without any justification for his actions. This would've spoilt it.

Not psychotic. He knew why he is doing what he is doing and that it is wrong. He saw no unnatural things heard no voices, no god talked to him. It was normally created reaction from his childhood which he failed to modify by forgetting it or reconciling by forgiving father.
he pulled it off so easily he is brilliant !
seriously...this whole scene portrays Vicky's character ...should have been included in the movie
Best actor...besttt
It's so relatable. Though I never killed someone lol. Point here, Anurag Kashyap conveyed is that how our fathers want us to carry their burden and not let us be. This in so many variations happens to us, specially in a morally confused country like ours. I see this scene over and over. It just relaxes me !!! Genius Anurag sir. Thankyou for letting this deleted clip out. It helps millions like us with fucked up parentings.
This scene completes the movie for me !
I am glad that you deleted this scene from the film as it could have revealed the main dramatic question and spoiled the suspense. By removing this scene you made film look more beautiful in revealing suspense and keeping audience stucked in dramatic question 👍🏻 anyways this monologues of Vicky kaushal he just performed it very well 👍🏻
Most Important Scene of the story !!! Can't believe this was left out. ! Would have given a concrete meaning to his character !! Very Sad..
May be dis scene is not in the movie because this scene is replaced by a dialogue from raghav's father that follows lyk dis - "maine ek baar ganja lete huye pakad liya tha ise.. tab maine ise belt se mara tha"... so if he kept dis dialogue then the background story of raghav would contradict... But i must say that.. Vicky kaushal... U got some real talent in u man and m a big fan of yours after watching your acting in Masaan and RR 2.0.....Keep it up...
Plz add subtitles. Bollywood movies are watched by people who don't understand Hindi. Aur upar se ye Anurag sir ki film aur unke fans toh duniya bhar mein hai. Aur yeh scene delete kyun kar diya.
This clip is better than the whole movie
From 4:06 he is talking about himself through his friend and he disguised his father's role. He never wanted to join the police.
this scene deserve its place on the dvd/bluray..........
what a superb acting..he is the future of indian cinema...
Maybe the character became more intense here, that's why they might have removed this scene

I find no reason why this should have been in the movie. The film gave vibrant and strong hints of him having issues with his father and that his father used to beat him up. The details just give information which is nothing that adds to the cinematic experience of raman raghav 2.0. I missed the city element in the film. Also raman's eccentricity should have been better analysed, especially, the city through his eyes, how different it is from other dwellers. Things like that.
@Bhavik630
6 жыл бұрын
I think it was quite obvious from the only scene between him and his father that they had a strained relationship because of the dominant nature of his father. I believe, the reason why this scene was edited out because had it been there, it would have taken away the shock factor in the end, where Raman passes on the baton to Raghav as by then, audience would have almost realised the traction of the movie on the basis of the tormented past of Raghav, where he had killed someone as a child.
@valied8131

Nilimesh Kar agree with the second para. However Anurag probably left the depth of Raman's character to people. Quite possibly showing more scenes on his viewpoint would steal the show of the film,; that is to potray how they both were actually the same kind of people.
vicky kaushal.. he is brilliant..
Awesome. I think it's good that this wasn't in the movie. It's too much exposition and goes unmatched with the rest of the film. I'm glad we have this cuz I wanted to know how his relationship was with his mother. Side note- I can write dialogues like this too but it's hard to find actors like him who can truly deliver every word :(

@@Bhavik630 yeah,like not to take a high ground or something but I've constantly seen film-makers,actors talk about how the Indian audience is relatively less experienced,less exposed (innocent audience - late Irrfan Khan) and they like to be entertained,relate emotionally but don't like a movie where they have to think. They even said it's quite a baby like audience who likes to be spoonfed.

What an amazing scene and why is it deleted . This could have actually set up Raghav's character perfectly
Amazing acting skills 😍😍
scene ! Alike others, i too feel that this scene if was included in the movie, the character could have been potrayed better with more emphasis on his dark living lead by bitter childhood. Kudos to Anurag Kashyap for he's the master of depicting dark films associated with elements such as drugs, cigarette smoking, downfall, rough sex, black comedy and slickly gore violence as a whole with realism Not to forget, Nawazuddin was perfectly befitting the part of a psychopathic serial killer.
@Vickykaushal u r class man
This video is not just related to how he becomes a pshycopath This also shows the dark side of Indian Parenting . Yes sometimes kids do wrong things . Yes i do agree on the statement that " Koi bi maa baap apni aulad ka bura ni sochta " But there is no debate on " The correct way of getting kids back on track " . Sahi kam bi agr galat tarike s kiya jaye toh vo Kam galat hota h .
this was as affecting as that 'sister' part for raghavs character.. this scene was there insted of raghav going to that drug dealer to beat him.. this scene would thickened the plot.
