    Why can’t people appreciate old school builds, this is what building a bike by hand is all about, investing time and building a relationship with the machine and what it will inevitably become... a masterpiece.

    Man, it's nice to see how talented you are and to learn from you every bit of the way. My grandpa always used to say that if you want to do something you will never say that I don't have the correct tool for it; you just find the way and do it with what you already have. I see it in every video of yours, that you achieve a ton with bare minimums! Fantastic! Just pure brilliance in this work.

    Nice subframe you are building Del, really well done, how do you make it all symetrical, just by eye's view or do you have a method for making shapes symetrical?

  • @Moonfleet41

    @Moonfleet41

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hi Cas, thankfully, symmetry is a natural talent of the eye, you can look at something and almost immediately see the slightest asymmetry, as am sure you're aware, so it's just a case of making one first and then matching the second one to it, and the same with a curve, when you're not using the fixed shape of a pipe bender, it's a case of adjusting the arch until the eye sees a perfect curve... it doesn't always work, sometimes you look at it a week later and you can see it to be slightly out, but as long as it's not engineering critical, then it doesn't matter too much...

    Really enjoying this build Del, Just a thought on the tank fixing , as you know some tanks slot into place on the front and bolt at the rear , could you adapt the rear hinge into a slot in arrangement and keep it bolt in at the front ? Great video again , your getting pretty good with the pipe bending 👍

  • @Moonfleet41

    @Moonfleet41

    4 жыл бұрын

    That's a good idea buddy, the hinge is really handy because it means you don't have to actually take the tank off to get access underneath it, there are actually hardly any occasions where you specially need the tank fully removed, it's usually simply access to the underneath area for plugs and air filter... but cool idea, thanks very much for sharing mate!

    Thanks buddy, I think we live in a world of luxury these days with the most technical of professional equipment readily available to buy and not that expensive in real terms either, but a few decades ago, that kind of thing was purely the reserve of large, professional companies, so we the great unwashed, had to make do with what we had... or get a job in these places and sneak in home jobs when the boss wasn't looking!

    Sure thing mate, that's a great idea, I think what works with the spanner best is the stepped neck on it that the pipe rests against, it means on the outside of the curve you get no teeth marks at all, only on the inside, and am shifting over to a pipe bender shortly anyway as I kinda like this tube fabricating thing!

    Hey brother! Fantastic vid (as always)! Real quick (and unrelated) question for ya... your intro and outro music was by who, and where can I get a copy of it? That rocked! Oh, and I was thinking (I know, we're in trouble now... lol) you have got to have a lot of bloopers that gets edited out. That would be something fun to see.

    Hey Doc, good to hear from you Brother, hope life is good... the music is by a band called Feast of Friends (FoF), out of North Carolina, lead singer is Ron Bass, they made us an dedicated intro track some years ago and we hooked up a close personal contact with them ever since, here is a link to their Reverb page, and the track used here is called 'Insane'... but check out Utopia and Man & God as well... they're pretty awesome! Enjoy... D&Px
