@@buckhorncortez No need to be a smart assed sarcastic dick. You and we all know what he meant . He's praising him. I never heard of him til now, til this link popped up, and I've been playing and listening to blues for 50 years. Underrated, under promoted, un appreciated whatever. Those are all words of praise Buford.

Played behind Delbert and ran around with him and his band in the 50's and 60's. In Fort Worth we had a very supportive band environment. Everybody supported each other. We partied together and stayed up late...going to the White Sands Supper Club on Jacksboro Hwy to listen and sit in with Leon Childs who played all night. Great memories of a time past.

Such a powerhouse. Delbert has been paying dues since the 50's. It's really hard to imagine the miles he has put down. Amazing.

What an amazing rendition of this classic blues song! I've heard so many, but this one is definitely among the finest. Thank you M. McClinton 🙏
I met Delbert in person in Winston-Salem, NC, in 199? I love the harmonica. Delbert hugged me in a place corner of Stratford Road & Healy Drive.. Not a very large building. Great memory!

Delbert band...and roomfull of blues....best jump swing...boogie bands on the planet!
The one and only Delbert McClinton in his prime with a kickass Austin Texas band from 1989.... Doesn't get any better.... This song has been attributed to be written by Aaron and Milton Sparks but this is the now famous reworked 1949 version by the the great Memphis Slim (Peter Chapman) with totally different lyrics than the original from 1935.....

Blue Monk quote. Suits. Swings hard. Tough vocals. Reminds of the Cain band groove and mentality and quality..

1:28 Delberts voice has that great rasp mixed in with a little Texas drawl and, the way, he bends pulls a note right into position… Still blows me away🎉 sitting here with my right foot in a cast, it is so hard not to keep time with that big band sound. Wow🎉🎉

@@the-magictones the trumpet player really lays down I mean sounding horn🎺 it takes quite a lot of skill to blend a trumpet into a rock band; another trumpet player that is also terrific is the player with the Mavericks. As a lead guitarist, I really enjoy a great trumpet sound and you guys are laying it down.🎺😎🎺
A fine performance !
Wow! Great band putting together such a great rendition. Listen to the band at 4:15 and tell me you want to just get up and dance! As a sax player I just wished Delbert would have added one more horn!

It really was the 80s - guitar player in a blues and roots band playing a Charvel with a Floyd Rose, active pickups, and shark tooth inlays! ;-)

Clássico Eletrizante Nota 10 ✌✌
At 3:25 the piano player starts his solo and it's a straight up chorus of the head to Thelonius Monk's Straight No Chaser, a classic bebop jazz tune. I think it's incredible that he did that and moreover that it fits perfectly.

Nice catch!! It makes sense though, jazz is just sophisticated blues, and blues is just gospel for people who like to party, and it all eventually turns to rock and roll. Music often moves in a circle and ends up back where it started, or ends up fitting right in in a new neighborhood

Dynamite o Pianist all the players who are backing up Dilbert mcclinton gonna be. A pedigree. Stage performer and have no difficulty letting it ride with some saunter and stride. These guys prolly know every jazz step since ragtime and all points in between Delbert not just a great vocalist he happened to write some dynamic lyrics exemplifies the very best of what we can expect from great acts there is really nonoen can compare raw talent and over all output of energy for the audience N
