What a beautiful interview, they say behind very great man is an even greater woman, Shirley was and is clearly a great woman. Wonderful insight in to this remarkable man.

Great to hear this, many thanks. Del's influence is filtering through...in what I am recording in 2023 in Britain. Certainly The Smiths, generally regarded as the best British band of the 80's, are fans. I have been thinking about Del today, trying to analyse his style...interesting that his early records had a strong rock & roll feel, but more rhythm guitar orientated than lead, it seems. He fascinates because of the emotive power in his vocal, which had such power. Then there are the incredible psychedelic era songs; I have never heard a bad Del record, and I don't suppose there is one. I haven't found much in depth stuff about him, and this interview is much appreciated. I understand not wanting to share some things about a famous person, but it was lovely to hear this. Del & Shirley's youngest child Jody, passed away some years ago. Not sure about Kim, but it sounds like Craig has some involvement with releases of his father's back catalogue.
