Just excellent…such talented fingers in that group of accomplished musicians.

Not really that far off from Henry Thomas’s original though.
Each song is meaningful and it's soothing to the soul when you stressed especially this time of pandemic..God bless all the listeners 😍😊

By daughter and I do this tune together. She plays a wicked flute that drowns out my so-so uke playing and singing. Best time on earth.

Love how Del isn't afraid to explore other genres of music. They adapt these songs so well. But that's what great musicians do.

Exactly! A bluegrass legend whose open mind and appreciation of American root genres allowed him to pursue avenues others of his generation and discipline rarely chose. And we are all the richer for musicians like him. Earl Scruggs was another.

This song is blues. Bluegrass is Celtic and blues mixed together. Bill Monroe took blues songs put them in a major key and sped up the tempo

Mr. McCoury I just love hearing you sing the song about the Vincent motorcycle. You and your family are awesome! God Bless Us All.
And Canned Heats version is a cover. From a tune recorded by Henry Thomas which is his version.
Nothing like pure Am iercan Music!!!!!!i
The song was wrote by Henry Thomas around 1923
Original- including the flute part Canned Heat did ( played here on mandolins) was by Henry Thomas, recorded in 1928 by Henry Thomas as Bull Doze
I saw Del Mccoury band at Wintergrass many years ago, very tight band, timing spot on!!
Awww... Sierra Hull playing along and radiating happiness.

Canned heat BADASS
People don't give Canned heat the credit they deserve, they were an excellent band with very talented and educated guys when it comes to blues boogie. Bob "The Bear" Hite was known to have one of the largest 78rpm blues record collection in the Country 15,000+ records.✌️ Great job folks.
