Gotta love Del!! When this album came out, I had it cranking one night, and my Siamese cat, Banjo, walked across the remote to the stereo and the thing went straight to NASHVILLE CATS!! Never will forget that!

Exactly!!!! This band performing this song is the ultimate show of respect and gives no greater a shout out than to do this song!!! For all the fools crying because Del McCoury didn’t specifically name drop Sebastian or thank him for writing the song don’t have a clue just what it means that Del is performing the tune at all. 💁‍♂️

You "don't know",,, but insist someone else is wrong? Sebastian wrote the song, Flatt and Scruggs turned it into a bluegrass standard and recorded it after Spoonful's version. It is attributed to Sebastian on their album.

There should be "reply" between, Like and Dislike. This band does a exemplary cover of the original... The Lovin' Spoonful w/ John Sebastian, lead singer, songwriter and musician. He wrote this song and preformed it in 1966. The original is a folksy/ country/ rocky?/signature style of John Sebastian. When you almost yodel and pick it out, it reminds me of Minnie Pearl / Chet Atkins. There were the best. However, when you have a frenetic pace to this song, it completing changes the intended impact/ feeling that the composer was conveying.
