I have a similar dehydrator, it is just like the cheap, round ones, only it is square. I bought some silicone mesh meant for Excaliburs, I think, (eBay) and cut it to size, only I did not cut out the hole in the middle. So I just put my veggies on and push the ones over the hole aside, that’s all. Works great❣️😊

This is a good idea, Kim. Another way if you don't have dehydrated carrots to grind: My son won't eat cooked carrots, so when I make stew, I boil the carrots in a little water first then puree them with an immersion blender (all right in the big pot I'll make the stew in). That way we still get the goodness with out the taste or texture. He's just fine with that. I saw your post below about your name. Made me smile.

I love to have these dry veggies on hand. Frozen hash browns are my fave. Put them frozen on the trays and go. Use for even quick casseroles. 7 Aldi bags of hash browns fit in one 1/2 gallon Ball jar!! 😉. Grab a handful of veg and put them in soups and chili. Corn is awesome too. So many times I only need go add a small handful into a pot of chili and I always have it on hand now. Well worth the time spent.

Thank you for your great teaching videos.

Making a soup mix is a great idea, because both soup bags and vegetable soup broth powder is pretty pricey. So if you e.g. use a lot of those cup soups etc, you can save a lot. I just dehydrated 10 leeks and some spring onions and after dehydrating and powdering, they fill 1 marmalade jar. It is so strong, concentrated, lovely green and smells heavenly. Makes me want to do more. So great to add to things like vegan meats etc too, sneaking in veggies while using it as if it was just spices. I put it and tomato powder in my last «unmeatballs» and they are sooo yummy! OMG, now I am hungry❗️☺️ I think carrots are next on my list!👏😊

had a dehydrator when the kids was all home, used it for jerky, after they was all gone gave it to my oldest, 3 years ago i saw one of your videos, bought a new dehydrator, i have even done marshmallows. last summer at a yard sale got a Ronco for 2 dollars never was used, (it has been now lol) right before christmas i finally got one with a temperature setting. so now i have 3 and at least one going a couple times a month ( i have 5 kids and now 12 grandbabies) so when something goes on sale, i over buy, at thanksgiving 10 lbs of potatos for 1.57 each, yup i bought 10 bags 15.70 for 100 lbs not bad. lol that took forever. lol last week i found baby carrots on sale for .99 a bag, best part they had .50 cent off coupon stuck to them,,,i bought 26 bags at . 49 cents each making 12.74 total . lol (1 pound bags) so the dehydrators are going. love all your videos.

Sweet Peas I chose that name when I was playing a lot of games online. I got tired of men wanting to “get to know me better” when all I wanted was to play a game of words with friends. It did the trick!

I just love your teaching spirit, thank you for sharing.
Love you channel and you, learning so much, God bless !
Thanks Bev for the info re: peppers and onions! I am definitely going to buy some frozen mix to dehydrate too. Best to you and Howie. On the hunt for deer carrots now.
Love the jar idea! Brilliant!
Thanks for the tip on putting a small jar over the center hole...GENIUS!
Wonderful Bev! Thanks so much! Great ideas!
Learned so much! Thank u for all the knowledge !!
That my friend is beautiful!!! so colorful!!!
I have been dehydrating everything since I found your channel, very satisfying! Thanks again!
Great idea! I have leftover celery and carrots in my fridge and peppers and onions in my freezer. I know what I’ll be doing today. Thanks Bev!
Good day to you Bev !! I need this mix, last season after seeing you do it !! Thank your the refresher course......
I always come back to your videos for GOOD advice. I have four dehydrators and use them all!! I own both the Nesco and Excalibur. They are both great for different jobs.
Awesome veggies for soups, Bev! This video really made me want to purchase a dehydrator.
A while back, I watched your other dehydration video's. Oh, the motivation!! I did jars & jars of individual veggies. I'm using the last of them now, so I'm watching for sales.
Love the dehydrated vegetable soup greens from the Amish. I plan to try this. Thanks for sharing!
Great tips love the jar over the center of the dehydrator :)
Thanks this video is very informative. I've been looking for the right dehydrator in order to save veggies from my garden. That soup mix looks good. Can't wait to dehydrate for the first time.
Thank you for sharing this -- I enjoyed learning something new.
I dehydrate veggies & never thought of a combo jar of veggies! Great video!
Now I need to get out my excalibur dehydrator and do some dehydrating!! Thanks for sharing!!
Your take charge attitude really inspires confidence. You must be a terrific grandma.
I am going to have to try this !! I can't wait to retire...so much to do, so little time right now. I am working towards that goal !! Hugs to you Bev !! Stay warm.
Love watching your dehydrating videos ...
Great reminder! Plus I really miss these type of video's! I know you have tons to go back and watch, and I do, but these are fun!!
I am so glad I found you again.. I was unsubscribed a while back and I didn't do it. Thank you so much for all your hard work... In these times we really need angels like you helping us... God Bless and stay safe everyone.
I just recently got a dehydrator (finally) and the reason I wanted to give it a try is because of your videos Bev. I've been watching you dehydrate veggies for a couple years and you inspired me! One of the main things I want to do is a soup mix - I love veggies in chicken or veggie stock with rice and little bit of shredded chicken or turkey for a nice hot lunch or dinner. Yum.

I've really got to get me a dehydrator. Love this video. There's no limit to the dishes you can make with those veggies!
Love the little jar idea. You might add kale or spinach to the mix. I love soup mix. Good stuff!
You are soulfood! Love your vibe and all your content. Will definitely be firing up both dehydrators this weekend to make a big batch. I never had dehydrated veggies before. They look good!!!

Thank You so very much for your time I have learned something today!!! Hugs 2 U and Big Daddy!!!
Hey Miss V, Once again I followed your lead. Bought large amounts of veggies when costco had a good sale. Spent 3 weeks dehydrating. My pantry is looking good! Again....much appreciated.❤🧡💯
Great video with lots of good tips!
I use a foodsaver with my canning jars. with the attachment that pulls out the air from the jars.. !! so super easy!! love your videos!
Great idea Bev! Thanks
I love this video! I plan on going camping this year with my kids and plan to bring food to cook over the camp fire so dehydrating as much food as I can that we can cook I think is the way to go. Thank you for all the good information!

Hi Bev, I have been watching your old videos and my Dear I have been enjoying these videos so much. These brought to mind I haven't seen anything about your livestock. Hummus, have I missed the part that you and Howie have gotten rid of your animals.
Great video! You are an inspiration to me.
Great job using what you have!!
There are so many ways to use those veggies. Well done 😀

Beautiful!
You Tube needs a love button. I love your idea and video.
Started using a jar or small bowl over the center of the tray what a life saver thanks for the tip
You are one hard working woman!
had a dehydrator when the kids was all home, used it for jerky, after they was all gone gave it to my oldest, 3 years ago i saw one of your videos, bought a new dehydrator, i have even done marshmallows. last summer at a yard sale got a Ronco for 2 dollars never was used, (it has been now lol) right before christmas i finally got one with a temperature setting. so now i have 3 and at least one going a couple times a month ( i have 5 kids and now 12 grandbabies) so when something goes on sale, i over buy, at thanksgiving 10 lbs of potatos for 1.57 each, yup i bought 10 bags 15.70 for 100 lbs not bad. lol that took forever. lol last week i found baby carrots on sale for .99 a bag, best part they had .50 cent off coupon stuck to them,,,i bought 26 bags at . 49 cents each making 12.74 total . lol (1 pound bags) so the dehydrators are going. love all your videos.
Another great show I love it.

I would figure out how to save the water you drained to make a stock broth. Great video as always.
So awesome! God bless.
I could watch you do this all day.
Love this idea!
Thanks Mrs. V. I really need to put my dehydrator to work. I make a lot of soups in the winter. But I going to try someone's suggestion of making a powder for meat balls or meat loaf. Sounds good.
Thank you for sharing this with us, as always wonderful information.. Just watched your Live video.. keep missing them while you are live :( As for the Pepsident toothpaste.. that is the only toothpaste I have used for 30 years.. can't stand any other one & love it that is is the cheapest one out there..lol Happy to hear your feeling better... Love & Big Hugs ♥
Bev I am watching all your videos. I’m gonna have to buy a couple dehydrators. Thank you sooooooo much for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with us. I wish I would have paid more attention to my grandmas growing up.

@@OurHalfAcreHomestead I will definitely share my knowledge. I do wish I would have paid more attention when I was a girl and watched my gran cook. She use to tell me “Young lady this is important. Some day when you have a family of your own, this will come in handy.” Now I’m having to relearn all this stuff like canning, dehydrating. My kids are grown but we’re all learning to do this because it saves so much money and it helps us prep for when fresh veggies aren’t available. Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Hi! I just stumbled across your channel and have been enjoying your videos. Binge watching. I've never canned before but you're converting me. My reason isn't snow but chronic pain. On "good days" prepping for the "bad days" will save money and be healthier. I live in the US, in New Jersey. We are known as the "Garden State" but your produce is a lot less expensive than ours.

sharon-I'm in Ct. Chronic pain here also. I can & dehydrate with my children on good days. Make large batch dinners that I freeze extras for bad days.
Awesome info. thank you for sharing 👍👍👍
Hi Bev. . I hope you have an awesome week. I love your veggie mix. Keep up the great work. I been thinking about starting a vlog/video channel. Wish me luck, plus I may have questions from time to time. love you God bless
Look at those colorful jars! Veggie party mix, ha ha 👍
Love the energy Mam. Subbed
I still live at home and do not have a dehydrator, but these video's fascinate me! Such a smart idea! I love it! Is anyone sees this, could you please let me know if many vitamins get lost doing this? Many thanks!
You done a fantastic job on that
Wonderful. Getting a hydrator is high on my wish list. I’m hoping to spy the kind you have - looks like it works great and doesn’t take tons of room to store. I can almost smell the veggies boiling.,,, When I blanch veggies I freeze the leftover boiling liquid in ice cube trays. Handy for cooking.

American Harvest had one with the fan in the bottom, I like that model for the price.
I have a chopper like that. I love it and it saves so much time.
since i am not yet a homesteader, I actually planted the onions that were starting to sprout just to see what they would do..lol...and oh where was this video when I started to dehydrate! I have tons of veg that were not blanched first...so it will probably be tough when using...but i caught on with your mushroom vid, and have not looked back since! =) you have been a weallth of knowledge to me, and I thank you so very much.
Thank you for sharing. I will give it a try.
looks really good . xo
Great information. Thanks
We love our big silver bowls, use them all the time when we can or dehydrate. We have 3 excalibur dehydrators. 2 we use all the time and one for back up if one breaks down. Plus the round dehydrator for jerky or making tomato powder. Love and hugs.
Love it 😍
good information! thanks for sharing!
I just keep using and adding to my jar. Stir it up of course. And I grind some into powder too
Love it!!!! Ty!!!
Great information ♥️
Gumbo!!! I have done the same thing only adding okra and tomatoes. That gumbo will be awesome this winter.
I love to dehydrate my veggies for soup, but I also use yellow squash, zucchini, tomatoes, mushrooms, and even winter squashes. Oh, garlic too! I saw a Mary’s Nest video today about making dehydrated bouillon and I might make smaller jars with vegetables and bouillon, truly making an instant soup!
I so need to do this!! i bet it would be good with some dehydrated garlic too? love dehydrated veggies!!
I can't wait till we install more shelves so I can really crank out our dehydrated veggies like this 💜💜
Great job.
Wao I love what you do...
