In this video, I review @Dehancer 's Dehancer Pro Film Emulation plugin.
I used the plugin to get the film look on some SLOG footage from my Sony A7IV and share some of my results in this video.
I also share my honest opinion as a beginner colorist and explain the value it has provided me in my color grading workflow.
In a future video, I will demo the plugin and give a colorgrading tutorial to show how I achieve some of these Cinematic film looks.

Great presentation bro! Do you have to shoot in LOG footage for this to wowrk or the standard picture profile?

Thanks bro! Great question. It works on either LOG or a standard profile. Log is a little more malleable. I’ll do a color grading tutorial soon and show my workflow for Standard and Log 👌🏾
Are there any specific Dehancer features or techniques that you find particularly innovative or useful, and how do they contribute to your overall video editing workflow?

That’s a good question. So far, I’m really enjoying the grain and bloom features. For technique, each project is different, but I just go through film stock profiles to see which one could support the narrative
Is there a solution to dehancer crashing in DaVinci resolve every time I try to open it in the software?

Sorry to hear that Parker. This hasn’t been my experience, however I believe you can try reinstalling the software, hopefully that clears things up. If not you can just reach out to their Customer support team on the support link at the bottom of their website.
