Let's say it's a bit difficult to handle new additions (more difficult than for example between rats). But it is also true that they are not all like that. For example Hope, the little one, is not dominant at all, he always does his own business :') it also depends a lot on the context they come from..

Wonderful Animals

I have 3 boys... They must be separated in single cages, because of brutal bloody fighting. It was horrible to see, how they ugly bite each other 😔😔. One (the smallest) of them almost died. In the past, when they was younger, none of that was reality. They slept with each other in friendly way. It was so cute and great to see... But now, I'm sad 🥺... Only way to little bit of socializing them, is to place them together in neutral place for a small amount of time and when they started to "boxing", it's the right time to grab them away, rather to see another ugly injuries. I like to see, that It's sometimes possible to introduce degus with friendship result. ❤

Hey, if I have questions about introducing two groups of degus to each other. Is there a way to ask questions about the right way?

how likely are degus to get along with new ones? i have 1 degu and she seems rather lonely and i'm a little afraid to get a second one since they might not get along.

I think it's very sweet that you decided to get a companion for your Degu. With my two degus Tom and Coco the introduction was practically impossible because they had already formed their group, so they didn't accept Hope. When I found Chicco instead, he was also alone, and they got along almost immediately, at night they were already sleeping together. I think it's also a matter of luck, but my advice to try to make the introduction go well, is to look for a Degu who is also alone, because usually this makes the introduction easier. Hi! Your degu must be very lonely, as degus are extremely sociable creatures, and the human companion is not enough for them, doesnt't matter how much time you spend with her. :( And because she is lonely will be easier to get along with another female or neutrilized male degu! I really suggest to you to get another degu, because they are absolutly adorable together, and you save your degu as well! Unfortunately, a degu alone become depressed and die... :( I know. It happened with me and it was a terrible feeling, I did not know about degus at that time. If need any help you can always find suggestions, ideas how you can help to be friend!!!! @@Szmorelany yes i am planning to get a second degu. But degus are rare where i live and i havent found a single one in the past two weeks.

what happened to their ears? where did you get your other degus from? omg

he was was bitten by another degu unfortunately :( (before I take them). I took him from a a lady who breeds them
