I would really recommend having them with paper or wooden bedding, the pee pads aren’t very convenient. Degus are natural burrowers and need enrichment to mimic that, also they may eat the pee pads. The cage is pretty decent since it’s all diy, but the wooden platforms will not last long, as they chew everything. I think you should update to a critter nation or something similar. I made the mistake of building a wooden cage for my degus when I first got them and it fell apart quickly, they even chewed holes to escape. So all metal is important. But they seem to have a pretty decent set up considering! I look forward to hopefully seeing more videos of your Degus.

I was going to buy the Savic Suite Royal XL cage but decided to wait because I would like to build them something more "natural" for example a fairly large glass terrarium. Unfortunately I can't do that at the moment but it's in my plans! Thanks a lot for the advice, it's welcome :)

I think the biggest you can keep! It also depends on how many degus you have. For me the terrarium is the best, in the future I will build them something bigger :)
