This album holds a special place in my heart. Not only is it a masterpiece, it was released on the same day my first son was born. Because of COVID, they wouldn’t let me in the hospital for the first 5 hours of my wife’s labour because they didn’t have enough rooms to admit her. I sat in my car nervous, excited and angry all at the same time. I listened to this album on repeat until my wife got a room and they let me in. Thank you Deftones for consistently getting me through some of the biggest challenges in my life.

Everything after White Pony is much different IMO. I’m not a huge fan of all the poppy chorus type shit but whatever that’s just me.

My dad passed away few days ago, and he loved to listen Deftones at his 20's in the 00's... Now I'm 21 years old in 2020 and I love Deftones. I knew Deftones from the White Pony Album when I was like 10 years old, thank you guys for making good music, we love you

As a teenager, I identified with their sound and it helped me with my grief and anger. I'm 30 now and this is helping me identify with other emotions such as growth, balance, and acceptance. My whole life I have been in a constant cycle of abuse from my alcoholic mother that I've finally started to notice it and break it the past few years. It's not easy but as always, Deftones is there.

I discovered Deftones at 10 years old when DBZ released a movie that featured “Change”. I used them as my guide to heavy music, and they’ve been one of my favorites ever since. My brother took me to my first concert 4 years later, I got to see them play at Family Values along with many others. I am fucking stoked that I can sit here at 28 years old with this absolute slapper of a song, and hearing my 6 year old daughter tell me she wants her first concert to be Deftones. A whole generation later. 🤘🏻

I have to comment again after actually listening. My best friend took his own life in January. Every time I’ve seen Deftones it’s been with him. He took me to my first Deftones show. I remember when Diamond Eyes came out and how much it meant to both of us to fall in love with that album like we had ones before. The first single on this album about killed me ... the lyrics felt like I was talking to him/writing to him. This one just gives me goosebumps. I feel him listening to this album as it slowly releases with me and I know he’d love it too. This album means everything to me this year. A devastating year that’s just about destroyed me. I just needed this. Thank you.

His riffs are SO SIMPLE but can pull a world out of your heart.

This has easily become my favorite Deftones song. It's really powerful.

Chino just sounds absolutely ferocious in this track, and that's hard to do in something philosophical.

dont expect that sound at all. Its really good tho. If I had to make comparisons id say tone and style its very much like diamond eyes or koi no yokan records which I think is great! Now to compare to a song from one of those its very much in the vein of poltergeist as far as the way chino does a TON of that scream/yell thing he does on the verses. Overall fans are going to dig it! Chorus wasn't my favorite ever but need time to let it marinate! Im pumped because the first single worried me they were ditching the sounds they cultivated on DE and KNY but thats def not the case. It seems we are in for quite a diverse record!

SICK! Deftones is one of those bands that you cannot classify into a specific genre of metal music. The only style I can think of that Deftones play is Deftones. Like Tool, Pink Floyd, Primus... they have defined their own genre that is so unique, that cannot be categorised in a specific genre!

Is it just me. Or does this song have a surprisingly uplifting message. And less wallowing feel like deftones before? I love deftones but I had to limit my intake cause it always made me fixated on wallowing because of how intense the lyrics were emotionally. But this song seems like its about finally breaking through. And finally seeing a whole new side to life you never knew existed. Which I have personally just went through in a way, And this song is fucking great timing. I HAVE FINALLY ACHIEVED.... BALANCE. its like a song about victory and im fucking stoked for the whole new album and how much they have grown. For those who are experiencing intense depression, low self esteem and feel stuck... Fight. Its worth it. You will see one day. Watch how wild it gets.

I am 57 that just got into the Deftones this year and I’m blown away. It’s so awesome to have 9 albums to hear for first time. Best gift ever I’m speechless. Love this band.

I read somewhere that Chino did most of the vocals at his home studio and said he had to keep it down so he wouldn’t disturb his family. This is Chino “keeping it down”

Deftones somehow manages to stay deep in their roots after more than two decades and still keep it fresh. With other bands you can tell their core sound starts to drift after a while... deftones goes even deeper. Legends

I consider DEFTONES to be more art rock than metal. They are creative asf. Chino delivers everytime. Love these guys 💕

This album came out on the day me and my mom became homeless, and it helped get me through that first few weeks. I live in a house now after two years of living in a trailer park, but I'll always remember that time in my life when everything was changing for me.

I'm glad to be apart of this experience with each and everyone of you who listens to amazing music such as DEFTONES!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘😁😁😁😁
