Definitely not a bug: the 2nd ever LOUD ECM Rush! Black Cat edition

The second Loud ECM Rush ever. These did not exist a few weeks ago, but now we have two! By finding some faulty loud triggers, you can do the whole heist in loud (with the corresponding objective chain), while remaining in stealth. No cops, no assault, no interference! Sneaky loud.

Hahaha very fair point! It would absolutely take the cops a long time to arrive, which probably explains why it's only the helicopter who was able to show up :D
If anyone ever requests a loud heist just play loud stealth

Very smart! I will do some streams at some point in the future, so if someone in the chat ever requests a loud heist, that is what I will do haha :D

The turret reatreating isn't damaged based, it's time based. If you destroy it before it goes away then you just do the objective quicker.

I thought that might be the case! A similar thing happens on other heists (like objectives auto-completing on Panic Room if you just wait until the assault ends), so it seemed likely here as well. However for entertainment purposes, it definitely was a lot more fun trying to fight it, rather than just hiding and waiting for a few mintues! :D

I always thought the turret was damage based so I would be trying to destroy it wondering if it had more health than normal
I doubt it will ever happen but I hope one day a faulty loud trigger is found for counterfeit, with the whole “stealth counterfeit” thing coming full circle

That would be very nice! Counterfeit full stealth was already patched many years ago in Update 105, but then broken down the line (which allowed me to make my very first video)... so it might work again someday! :D

I imagine it is highly unlikely, although it would be thrilling if you did ever find a faulty trigger or some other method. Who knows, if such a pseudo stealth occurrence ever is possible it might even be better than your debut method since it could potentially eliminate the worry of the neighbors

@@sillyjester It would be easier indeed, only time will tell! For now I've already tested all the options (changing the order of events between the mandatory C4 and some other event triggers) and there's no way to avoid the assault currently. But perhaps in the future!

@@Marcmb I’d have to investigate how the stealth to loud trigger works but the only potential way I could speculate breaking it would be extremely specific scenarios of getting loud triggers to happen simultaneously and confuse the game (though that highly depends on how the devs coded the mechanics of breaking stealth)
Who knew the way to have loud stealth would be to simply kill all witnesses?

It's quite refreshing yup! Back when the game released, early stealth used to work like this (get rid of everyone and just run around freely) so I've missed this a lot, although the current system is better overall :D
Darn, I wasn't in this game for so long new heists started to drop I see. The half-stealth-half-loud is very unusual and interesting too.

Some of the new heists are amazing yup! Next one on June 20th, called "Crude Awakening". Looking forward to what that's going to be :D
turret literally just leaves after a while, and snipers cannot call all you had to do was kill the snipers and afk :steammocking:

Haha I thought that might be the case yup, since it happens often in other heists like Panic Room. However for the purposes of the video, it felt a lot better if we actually had to fight it! :D
I know someone else mentioned it but the helicopter is time based and not actually a required ‘kill’ per se, BUT if you want to challenge yourselves by killing it then crit builds on weapons with high rates of fire are the way to go. Of course explosives also deal 15x damage to turrets, but I’m not sure how your incindiary grenades will fare. THIS BEING SAID: you still have to at least trigger the turret and have some sort of altercation or else it actually WILL just stay there forever.

Actual explosives should've been quite good yup! As you say, I'm not sure if the incendiary Arbiter would have worked very well -- doesn't make too much sense against an airborne enemy, but it would've been worth trying! If we ever come back to it in the future, to optimize it for XP purposes, we'll definitely start the heist with less sneaky loadouts, to actually take down the turret :p Also very cool to know that you actually have to interact with it at least once for the retreat timer to start. Thanks for all the useful info!

My headcanon is when the pager guy hears the alarm go off, he just clocks out immediately without checking whether cops have been deployed or not. Or calling them himself. He's just that underpaid.

That's a great strat, will probably end up trying it out! Though I'm a bit curious how this works exactly. Are there real and fake loud triggers? I've noticed there being one in panic room - if you "break stealth" by going up the staircase where you're not supposed to, then put an ecm down, you get a similar stealth loud state where gangsters are calling for backup while it is active, trying to make the heist go into real loud. However, there's a real loud trigger after you kill chavez which you can't avoid afaik. I wonder if a similar thing is happening here, except that overkill forgot to put in a real loud trigger somewhere to avoid this?

Hey miuzoreyes! Excellent question. On most heists, there are indeed "real" loud triggers, in the sense that they trigger the alarm, but they also start the assault (so you don't get any extra time by having ECMs down). These fake triggers are set up poorly, so they only do the former. This means the only way for the assault to actually start, is by having some of the civilians / guards call the cops, which can't happen if you kill everyone - and then you get locked in this "pseudo-loud" state. Likely the same thing as you describe for the start of Panic Room, although I didn't know that one was a thing, nice! Shame that they added a real loud trigger on Chavez's death though :(

@@Marcmb Speaking of fake loud triggers, not sure if you're aware of this one or if it has been found already, but I've discovered that Mountain Master heist also has a faulty loud trigger - the gong. By shooting at it, you enter the fake loud state, and as long as every guard and civilian was dealt with (which is very easy to do due to map size), including some of the scripted spawns that happen later - you can finish the heist in the "pseudo-loud" state. The dangers are 3 triads that spawn from a door inside elevator area shortly after the gong is hit and car is being rotated, and after driving through the door there's a few civilians and guards in the office + 3 guards and the boss on the roof. The boss, thankfully, cannot call the cops. Oh, and yes - you have to fight the armored boss with 40k HP. The same thing *might* be applicable to the dragon heist, as I faintly remember the same gong being there as well. However I haven't bought the DLC yet so I cannot really test it.
Yup, the good ol' "it is stealth if there is no-one to raise the alarm" rule

Exactly yeah! Reminds me of stealth back on the very early days, where you just completely cleared the map, and then you were free to roam around with no resistance :D

@@poundweed3499 Most heists pretty much! Framing Frame was a very common one: there was no bonus inspector after killing a certain number of guards, and dominated guards did not trigger pagers, so you could always get rid of all guards if you played the heist properly! And yeah, this was a really interesting video, crazy how the game has loud triggers that sometimes don't actually work. I'd love to try this sometime.
That thumbnail reminds me of the Matrix 2 scene where Neo and Morpheous are following the Keymaker across the hidden room in the skyscraper where they would meet the architect... and then Agent Smith shows up and calls in the police assault- I mean, spawns all the Smith's clones and they start fighing in the corridors haha Nice video! I dont know about the turret, but a few times in console where turret spawns, Im pretty sure I dont destroy it and it sometimes stops shooting and allows me to deliver loot bags, so maybe they have like ammo limit or time limit?

It does feel a bit similar true, especially since all the cops have the same visual appearance :D As for this ammo/time limit you mention, that is indeed correct yup! They can only shoot for a few seconds non-stop, and then they have to take a long pause to reload (which is indicated by their red laser turning yellow). Very helpful to move out of cover!

@@zairuswane Haha I haven't seen that in a while! I used to get it a lot back in the day, while learning Election Day, and it used to be a blessing to have ECMs to convert the turret... but nowadays the heist is too easy!! :D

Haha exactly! One of the rare situations where this actually applies. Because usually the pagers would ruin the plan, but the faulty loud trigger takes care of that very nicely. It's great!

Hi, as I see you do respond which is nice! Wonderfull job you did on the channel! Can diamong museum heist be done this way? Would it work if you kill every guard there with ECM rush and step on the wrong tile in the maze?

I do try to check all the new comments whenever I have time yup :) The Diamond works in a very similar way, in the sense that the alarm is delayed when you step on the wrong tile (as long as ECMs are running), but it seems there's some loud helicopters that are scripted spawns, and there's no way to avoid those. More testing needed still!

I wonder if you can enter false loud on boarder crossing, since you can use explosives on the tunnel doors before even if you’re in stealth…not sure if it’s patched or not though!

Interesting question Siu! On Border Crossing it's a bit different, because the fake loud (which starts on "DAY1") is cancelled as soon as you reach "DAY2"... but there might be some faulty triggers on DAY2 as well, to re-enter the fake loud state!
Maybe, once I'm back to Payday, I will try this technique on Big Bank, because we often don't have enough time moving all the bags to the bus before the assault when rushing the vault part in duo/trio.

Big Bank would be an interesting one! Because even if you can find a faulty loud trigger to enter this "fake loud" state, the never-ending civilian spawns would mean that, as soon as one spawns during the "fake loud" state, he would be able to call the cops, before he even enters the playable area! Unless you camp their spawn points with wall penetration, or explosive damage :p

If you wanted you could also use a glitch I found with the vault door where first you have to get into the right position in front of the vault before the first drill bag is placed.

@@Marcmb yes it is. The only downside is that you can't get out until the vault is opened from the outside. If you glitch inside it won't allow you to press the button even if you pick up any Loot.

@@fiyahquacker2835 Aww that's a shame :( I was hoping it would be possible to press the button, which would be a huge time save. There's still a tiny time save (since you can pre-bag all the loot, and pre-open the deposits...) but it's not a very big time save :(

Hey dewy! That is a very interesting thought. This is indeed true as long as you can kill all guards and civilians (which is possible on the heist). However, we would need to find the faulty loud trigger! Hard to think of one, on FWB...

Best part was the fact that it continued shooting as it retreated :D Like the pilot was giving up, but the turret still wanted to claim victory!

I guess it's just trial and error. And even if this was found on a forum, that means someone had to figure out the same thing himself, which means we've come a full circle.

@@nadimthenewt The Long Guide wouldn't exist or at least wouldn't have been as thorough as it is, if not the leaks that happened a long time ago. If I remember correctly, a lot of information from there was taken from the game's code.

Hey Newt! This one in particular was discovered because I accidentally walked through the lasers during an ECM rush (oops) but the game still gave us a choice to continue the heist, without the assault starting as long as we continued placing ECMs. As *@Medium* also mentioned, there is a repository out there with all the source code decompiled, and some people are able to read through it to find cool stuff (for example the author of The Long Guide back in the day), but I don't know enough to understand the source code well :(

@@mediumplayer1 ah yeah! ive heard about the long guide from one of marc's older videos, i'm not too sure which. but with the bug fixes and whatnot over the years, i was wondering if newer discoveries after 2017 were compiled all in one place just like the long guide. especially for stuff like in this video, where the loud aspect is triggered during stealth.

So long as you dont follow the exact same path, you can dodge a majority of the turret's fire. Favorite method is to walk one way, double back but just jump over the path when we cross.

Good question! I think the wire was a leftover objective from right before we went loud, so maybe we would've been given the stealth objective chain, during loud, during stealth! As for the turret kiting, I didn't know it was possible either (I assumed it would hit eventually) but Twits made it look so easy, I just had to try myself as well!

Hey meto! Only certain maps unfortunately: in most cases, if you do any of the loud triggers (lasers, blowing up some walls with C4...), the alarm actually goes off and the assault starts. It's only on some exceptions that this works - two of them showcased so far!

Hey GrandMoai! We tried Golden Grin, but unfortunately if you walk through those lasers, even if you have ECMs running, the alarm actually goes off on that heist :(

In a way yeah! Although most heists in PAYDAY2 can be simplified to "waiting objective" then "looting objective". This one is mostly waiting (like all loud heists) but it's very unique compared to Bank Heist, because the objectives are so unusual! :D

Interesting! Big Oil is a heist that I haven't played in a while, although it's less "useful" on that one, because you can always ECM rush and kill all the gangsters, which sadly has very little difficulty :(
"unique gameplay" this is just harvest and trustees with more waiting !

In a way yeah! But if you look at it like that, all heists can be simplified into "waiting objective" and "looting objective"! This one is a lot more unique because these stealth objectives don't happen anywhere else :p We have blowing up walls, stealing an entire vault with a winch and helicopter, fighting enemy helicopters...
