The Woodland Realm was a kingdom of Silvan Elves located deep in Mirkwood, the great forest of Rhovanion, beginning in the Second Age. Following the War of the Last Alliance, Thranduil of the Sindar ruled over the Silvan Elves. Those of the Woodland Realm were known to be less wise and more dangerous than other Elves, but by the late Third Age were the only remaining Elven realm with a king.

You can put Rainion on the wall so the goblins can only reach him with infantry. That will give him 12 minutes to deal with them before the wargs win the square. If he survives killing the infantry, he can shoot the wargs probably, and then rush down to kill the last of them in the nick of time. Divide and conquer, and all that.

Hello, my friend. Welcome back Woodland Realm! I was alsmost lost without you... (Hehehe, I'm joking...). Now on the campaign, things are now good. Since you repelled the attack in Thranduil's Halls, his army is now free to march on and the strike against Eryn Rhunen is a good one. On the other hand, I would prefer Orthordir to march on Leodholt first before Beron's Halls, but in any case this donesn't change too much. On the other hand, Legolas keeps on moving with the host in the west bank, but the Goblins retaliate in sieging Framsburg. You have some small chances to keep the hold, albeit small... Though you are perhaps right, the castle is lost... It's because you moved Legolas more south, instead you should have built the watch tower where you were and return to strike. We'll see about the battle. The important thing, though, is that you will merge with Lorien and you will have armies to march south and to send north to Legolas to bolster him afterwards. This matter will be solved in the next episode. In the economy, your recruitment is hampering your income, but that is expected. In fact, I believe that your armies as they are now can limit Dol Guldur to the Hill itself, as you exalt the Orcs from the trees. You will overcome as usual, with small but sure steps as your infrastructure grows. But give at least one economic building on, despite how small of income it gives. And now, let's continue with our story after a very good break: Legolas moved south and gathered every Elf and Human he found, so as to keep on following the route of the Anduin. But it seemed at times that he had a disagreement with Elenwe, who proposed a more careful road. In the end, as he reached the bridges of the stream south of Framsburg, a messenger came to tell him that the castle was under siege. "Not a big army", he said to the Prince, but we cannot be sure that we will hold". Legolas realised that he needed to return. And his apologetic eyesight to Elenwe shows how angry she was. In the other side of the forest, a big host came to the bridges of Thranduil's Halls. The King was exactly there, to defend his own home with Hilmaeg, the messenger from Lorien. Thranduil, hearing the composition of the army, though, he was very confident and decided to ambush them on the bridge of his own Halls. Of course, the ambush was successful and the Orcs fell straight into the trap. That bridge was the only entrance for the Halls and the Orc commander knew it, that's why he sent the Trolls forth to attack. Unfortunately for them, Thranduil himself was at the walls and his men actually sniped the Trolls one by one as they were running on the bridge. This brought a warcry from the Orcs as they marched, with the shields in front in a slow pace on the echo of drums. The Elfs, however, had already made a circle around them, as the Halls had some secret underground passes that led out in the forest around the stream, thus the Orcs were caught into a circle of archers and javelinmen. Two thirds of the army died there before even getting their steps in the middle of the bridge, while the others tried to flee, only to be die from the archers or trampled by the cavalrymen. Only the commander was still standing, albeit his men fell around him. Himlaeg stepped forth and fought him, the elegant and eligible Elf against the heavy and strong Orc. Himlaeg caused him some good wounds in the feet, however, rendering the Orc slow. At a point, as the Orc was missing continuously swonging his head scimitar around, the pain in the feet dropped him to the knees, which was the perfect opportunity for the Elf to hack the Orc on the head with the pointy top of his axe. "Good performance", Thranduil said to him after the battle. "I hope you were not wounded". "No Orc blade can harm me", said Himlaeg. "I am too quick for a slow big Uruk to catch me". Both had a good laugh. "Good strategy of yours to send your forces around", Himlaeg said after a while. "I thought that the only entrance in your Halls was through the bridge". "I have taken lessons from the destruction of Menegroth and Nargothrond", Thranduil replied. "There are side doors that let my people go out if they don't want to be seen. In fact, having only one door to enter or exit is a mistake. Those small side doors offer an escape i case something goes terribly wrong. In cases like this, those doors help my armies to defend better". "Now, my Lord", Himlaeg said. "What of Lady Galadriel's proposal? Will you send a word south?". "My word is already given", the King replied. "We will march together in this fight. And the land from where we began our journey cannot be forgotten. In those times of need, uniting is very important. Each one of us alone cannot stand against the Shadow, but together we have more chances". Himlaeg smiled, as he heard this answer from Thranduil. And this showed that his intentions was for the Union, exactly as Lord Celeborn and Lady Galadriel wanted. "I can see what you think", Thranduil answered. "I have long thought this. And I am sure that this is the best for all our people. Needless to say that all my councellors ask for this Union as well, so does my son. But what does your wife think of this?". "When you meet her, my Lord", Himlaeg answered in a mysterious tone, "you can ask her yourself".
