The Woodland Realm was a kingdom of Silvan Elves located deep in Mirkwood, the great forest of Rhovanion, beginning in the Second Age. Following the War of the Last Alliance, Thranduil of the Sindar ruled over the Silvan Elves. Those of the Woodland Realm were known to be less wise and more dangerous than other Elves, but by the late Third Age were the only remaining Elven realm with a king.

Hello, my friend. You are really almost there, the Greenwood has been cleansed and now you have the core of the realm united. But you are not finished yet before the restrictions, as Maethelburg and Fenholm were part of the Anduin Vale, which fell to the Goblins. Only with those as well your realm will be complete - because one of the house rules were that if a friendly territory fell, you had the right to liberate it. So, until you liberate the regions of the Vale you cannot lift the territory restrictions yet. I accept you getting Dant'alad, which will be a majestic last battle with Dol Guldur. Afterwards, you must partiate the forces you have in east and west, so that you take over the last of your immediate gains. Ortrhordir can lead the force against the Goblins with everything you have. In this point, I remind you that the Lorien militia units in Dor Lhingvar, Dor Naurhach and Amon Lanc acannot be retrained, because they are direct equivalents to your own militia troops. Now that you can train better units, I suggest to take all of them (as well as the Dale cavalry you have in the fort of Taur Philin) with Orthordir and send them to strike against the Goblins after merging them. The new governor that is with Celeborn will take over Dor Lhingvar, perhaps with a garrison, as it is a border region. I want to have all the big names of the campaign together in their push against Isenguard and Mordor: Thranduil, Legolas, Celeborn, Haldir, Rumil, Orophin, Enpremi, Orthordir, all of them with very good armies against Mordor, as they are united under one Crown. Don't feel afraid for your economy, I see signs of rising, slow but they exist. And now, let's add another episode of our story: Thranduil and Celeborn attacked the fortress of Dor Lhingvar together, while Haldir and Enpremi also joined after some time. The fight was very simple, as Thranduil got the Orcs a good "rabbit" of a small cavalry company to drive the Orcs out and into the ambush he had set. Five minutes afterwards, there was no one left alive and Dor Lhingvar was liberated. The same scenery was seen in Burh Sauthis, under the eyes of a small Dalian army, who, after the siege, sent a greeting to King Thranduil. With a good sense of joking, Enpremi said that his men were complaining, as the archers were so good and the Orcs so idiot, that there was no need of them to fight... Enpremi and Haldir brought news that Legolas was in range, but he kept his distance, as Elenwe wanted to keep track with another Elenwe, of Ilanin this time. Himlaeg explained that this Elenwe was the sister of Nurwe of Ilanin, that was in that castle looking towards Rhun. Perhaps something exciting was happening in that region. At the same time, Legolas was monitoring the moves of a big Dalian host that had entered the Forest, but they left soon. "My wife says that Biarn contacted them", Himlaeg said. "Biarn sent scouts till the Anduin, as he wanted to know whether there was reason for our intervention. Though our commanders repelled the forces of the Goblins and Biarn got back". "This is quite a relief", Enpremi said. "I still don't like the fact that such a big host came into our territory. I know, of course, that Dale is an ally of us, but still the doubt is there". "I don't think there is any imminent danger", Celeborn said in calm and respectful contrast. "But this doesn't mean that you are entirely wrong. Who knows if the King of Dale decide to attack us, since he has not anyone to fight anymore?.. Rhun is far away from him now and his realm is secure. The lust is there and we should not underestimate it". "I agree", Thranduil said. "I trust King Bain and he has proven himself a wise leader. But we must have some defenses in any case". "And I say that our attention must turn to the West", Haldir said, "aswe have a new message from Lord Orthordir. He says that our realm is not complete, because the Goblins have the west bank of the Anduin, thus Beorn's Halls and Framsburg will constatly be attacked, stalling our progress and our attempts to stabilise our regions. We need to clear them out and then attack the High Pass, if we are to get rid of the threats around us. I believe him". Himlaeg, Celeborn and Enpremi showed clearly that they were in direct agreement. Thranduil then turned to the captain of his bodyguard. "I wholly agree", he said. "My order to Lord Orthordir is that he will be the commander of this force that will march against the Goblins to liberate all of the Vale of the Anduin and will get all of the region under our rule, so as to liberate the Humans on the Vale. Every accessible force west of Ost-in-Geil should join his army and after completion, he must pass from the Karrock Pass to the west bank and liberate Fenholm and Methelburg at least. The High Pass is under his own view, he can act as he wishes". The captain nodded and left immediately.

Agree that public fountains etc are very important. To give you some calculations; at a growth rate of 0.5% your population will double every 139 turns. If you improve that to 2%, you'll double every 35 turns. At 5%, you'll double every 14 turns. If you can really get those population growth numbers up, you'll upgrade the settlements in no time

This land is not for Elves much longer, it will be under Human control - For better or worse. But the shadow Sauron casts on these lands is something that the Elves cannot ignore before leaving... Aiding Humanity would be in the lady of the forest's best interest, if only for her conscience before leaving for the undying lands. I think the main spirit of the challenge, holding only the forests, is really great. It would be a big shame if you give that up, even though I do agree Dantalad could be a region you could use - I suggest giving it (And the one in the south of it, I don't remember its name, sorry) to either Gondor or Rohan, and sending armies to assist them. Push into Mordor, and every land you take - Give it to the humans. Allow your armies to consolidate within taken lands, send back units to the forests for retraining, and send fresh recruits to the front. It could make it a lot more interesting content than the usual 'Take everything, steamroll!' approach we all have to the game. So if you ask me, keep going the way you did, keep nothing but the 'core' settlements of the Elves, it's really interesting. Also, you can retrain the Avari Spearmen at Dor Naurach (Or any other region they spawn in as Mercenaries) every time you can see them as recruitable mercenaries.
