My grandfather said the 'SS' on his uniform meant 'super secret' and that's why he didn't talk about the war or the medals. Looking back I'm not sure if that was totally correct.

The really puts into perspective the big difference between Saving Private Ryan's Omaha depiction vs. reality. As realistic as the violence was the movie depicts Omaha as a small, cramped beach w/ bodies on top of each other. In reality the beach was extremely vast and soldiers were spaced very far from each other, but still very deadly.

Hell Let Loose most accurate depiction of Omaha beach in a gaming experience to date.

Got to shoot a real one recently, in 7.92. It wasn't mounted, just set up on a bipod, and the guy running the range said I needed to aim like 3 feet high because the recoil would push it so far back on the bipod and change your sights that much. So not only fast but also recoils like a MF.

Yes thats why in real life they had to swap barrells like crazy. This guy's style would not have happened in real life with how many barrell swaps he would have to do

Would be pretty cool if you had to change the barrel every so often but at the same time annoying.

I went to Omaha Beach a few years ago and it was at low tide just like it was on D-day and I fast walked from the surf to the German bunkers (they still are there) and it took me a good 3 minutes. So the landing troops were exposed for a long time dealing with enemy fire.

Game is a masterpiece

a big reason why these guys get to have a field day up on the cliffs as they cut down the guys on the beach is that they hardly get shot at by those maneuvering across the beach. if you are taking fire, your best courses of action are to seek cover and return fire, which would in turn allows an easier advance up the beach.

In addition the defenders had the luxury of literally being able to watch the attacking boats approach the beach and begin shooting at the exact right moment. The attackers on the other hand had no clue what they were facing until that ramped drop.

Might hit people a lot more easily with short controlled bursts and you won’t have to reload as much.

@@ariqkamil571 there isn't a burst mode as far as I'm aware, they're saying to manually shoot in burts (4-6 shots) rather than holding it down.

I think it would be comical to see an A-10 Thunderbolt rip down that trench line and after the carnage the player comes across the mic and says “sorry….sorry. I’m about 4 decades ahead of myself…..carry on.”

I was ripping up the landing US troops at Omaha this weekend on HLL and I felt so bad that I allowed a full squad of them to make it past ur defenses so they could make a spawn point and we could have a fair fight, which we subsequently lost. No ragrets though.

Were any of the 3 machine gunners at Omaha beach THAT exposed? Or is the game catering to the upper visibility, which is most definitely needed?

The developers made the map with aerial shots of the real beach. You can put the map side by side and it is extremely accurate to the area! So I imagine that while the machine gunners might not have been as exposed as I was in this video, these firing positions probably were on the real beach!

@@Tigerbear62 I don't know much about combat technicalities, but with overhead cover, I would assume it ensures the soldier doesn't become increasingly doubtful, hearing all the bullets zipping above and around his head. Less time to think "I'm gonna have my melon blown to bits any second." My only point is : psychological status in a warzone is more crucial than our militaries will ever fully acknowledge. We're not pawns. We're human.

When I do this I get about 3 bursts off before getting capped...

I stopped bothering trying the machine gunner, cause as you said, as soon as you open up, boom dead. Guns are to accurate for prolonged engagements unfortunately

Normally anywhere between 30 minutes to about 2 hours. Most matches are about 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes, unless the teams are extremely unbalanced or extremely well balanced!

One of my favorite stories told to me by a very old soldier recounted the time they came across a few fanatics of the SS. They pulled them aside and shot them all just like in FURY. i5 2400 is from 2011 way to slow! I have a MSI i5 10500H 32gb ram and a GTX1650 and it just runs a little over 60fps

what you're planning to buy ain't much of an upgrade. go for a quality ryzen cpu and u'll have it for years, and they're around $300-400 and come with a good enough stock cooler

@@Tigerbear62 basically if not mounted when you’re standing, you grab the one piece of the bipod to hip fire. If I’m making sense. Some parts of your video you are doing that but in the beginning kinda you were not. Just shooting and spraying. It’s hard to describe and hope I described it well lol

@@wildman473 yes I know what you mean! Normally this would be the case when standing, and I would be limited to hip fire. But in the video you can see when I enter the Tobruk, it gives the the mount option so that’s all I do! In most of the areas on this part of the map you are able to mount your MG and get a good view of the beach.

There is no notification if that's what you mean. You need to kind of pay attention to see if they fall down dead, or if there is blood spray. From a certain range you can hear a thud sound effect for bodyshots, and a clang helmet sort of sound for headshots.

sad, the problem with a lot of game from the very first battlefield 1942, they just fail to recreate how an offensive looks like, getting the map right but the map is empty, what do you do? BF1 actually had the answer, the operation mode (i think its called operation)
