RAFAEL’s integrated air and missile defense solution is based on a multi-layered concept designed to provide optimum defense against all current and future threats ‒ assuring tactical overmatch.
RAFAEL’s advanced and combat-proven systems enable quick reactions, 24/7, in all weather conditions. They can operate either independently or with other defense systems and can be controlled by RAFAEL’s C4I systems.
The lower layer is comprised of the Drone Dome™ family. a system that quickly detects and neutralizes hostile drones.
The short-range layer includes the IRON DOME, a multi-mission defense solution ‒ and the world's only system that provides effective protection against rockets, artillery, and mortars, as well as aircraft, UAVs and PGMs. Iron Dome, also known as SkyHunter, protects both stationary assets and maneuvering forces, and has carried out thousands of combat interceptions.
The C- DOME is the naval version, using the same interceptor against air threats and sea-skimming missiles.
The SPYDER family provides short- to long-range air defense for military and civilian assets and mobile force protection against aircraft, UAVs, smart bombs and missiles. SPYDER is a combat-proven system and is operational worldwide.
The I-DERBY-ER, with active radar BVR double pulse motor, and the PYTHON-5TM dual waveband imaging infra-red combat-proven missiles, are used in air-to-air combat as well as ground-to-air missions as part of the SPYDER missile systems.
The upper defense layer consists of the DAVID'S SLINGTM system which protects against multiple targets at long range ‒ including artillery, rockets, short-range ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and tactical ballistic missiles.
