As we were flying model aircraft out of Apollo XI Model Aircraft Field, a B-2 took off from Van Nuys Airport. Had I not looked up, I would not have spotted it. The aircraft was virtually silent flying past us. It was going to the Rose Bowl Parade to fly over. If I remember correctly, it was back in 2006. As far as the B2's inherent instability, it's not so unstable. We've flown model B2's without any stabilization software. It's actually a stable flying design. Just don't try to knife-edge it, or try to roll it excessively.

T3RB. It’s been spotted on both coasts. Crazy to think about, but it will slowly come out, as the Chinese have admitted their own work on anti-grav propulsion. What’s nuts is the cloaking tech which I don’t think any other country is close to the US on, yet. It’s why all the talk of “UFOs” all of a sudden. We’re about to unveil technology that undermines physics as we know it and that will have an effect on life for humans, and probably cause a lot more conflict. The B2’s replacement has also allegedly been photographed in HA flight and is active whether or not the US military admits it. They even have unmanned stealth aircraft allegedly that can drop special forces teams using halo jumps.

Nah, the pilots are just really tiny, about the size of Tom Cruise, in the 2-3 foot tall range, jk obviously...but yeah, they have to be big, they're "Bombers", they need room for a decent payload, along with a lot of fuel, those are the two main concerns, next comes speed, and ability to fly at high altitudes, which calls for a large wing area so stay aloft in the thinner atmosphere. Tom isn't really that short at 5'7", but they do pick short pilots, did you know his full name is Thomas Cruise Mapother IV? I didn't, until a minute ago. Oo

I grew up across the river in Carmichael, at the end of Arden Way. We'd stand on the levee and watch the B52s and KC135s take off from Mather. There were planes flying around from McClellan AFB too, where my dad worked. And, Aerojet General, just east of Mather, was frequently testing rocket engines. Planes from Travis and Beale were around too. There was an ambient roar around us all day.

  • @robertp452

The B2's advantage is its stealth capability and unrefueled cruising range. It's not particularly "massive" in any way. It's smaller than both the older B1b and the B52 bombers (though its wingspan is larger than the B1b), and it can't carry as much bombing payload as either of them, but it's more likely to survive long enough to hit its target than the older bombers are. It's actually smaller than most large commercial airliners, too.

Awesome display of US power. I’ve done airlift, rail, and sealift exercises as an Air Force Cargo Courier and a unit team member. For those who haven’t done it, it’s a lot of critical tasks that must be perfected in order to get people and equipment to their destinations as efficiently as possible for mission accomplishment. As a veteran of the Air Force and as a former Army commander, I’m proud of all who served and who continue to serve our nation. Excellence, learned and repeated, is why we are the world best fighting force! EDIT: I have to say there are exceptions - I am absolutely DISGUSTED and disappointed in sexual assaults in the military! It MUST stop. You cannot have unit cohesion without trust in all of those around you… and commanders (I was one) are NKT trained to investigate crimes. They have no business being judged.

You make a good point and I think about this too. I actually am an activist specifically concentrating on the effects of aviation on climate change. As you know climate change disproportionately negatively affects the poor and will even more in future. It bothers me that nations with largest historic emissions need to transfer very large amounts of funds to developing countries to enable a higher living standard at a lower carbon footprint, otherwise hundreds of billions of kilowatt hours of electricity will be generated with coal. The only way to do this is with carbon pricing to make rich nations equalize their historic emissions. Rich counties caused the climate crisis and aviation growth was a big facilitator of this. Having said all that, the B2 costs between 1-2 billion each funded by American tax payers (the planes in the picture would have cost $30 for every American alive today). I was being ironic about the 5-10 billion dollar elephants. The US I understand does elephant walks to project power. Some people used to call statements like I made culture jamming but it wasn’t good in this instance. Sorry for lecturing here.

I read there, Elephant Walk, is that different than MITO or same but specific to B 2? I read the mission would be get aircraft to safety as incoming likely. True that. I saw this happen at Mac Dill AFB Tampa the 48 hours leading up to the crisis and Defcon 1 and 3/4. Massive excellence that happens when the hobby is war and the profession is Peace. I also witnessed MITO on Andersen AFB Guam Territory of USA, in smaller numbers than the Cuban Missile Crisis. I still learn things Brat that the Life taught me that were meant to be realized later. My mind says these "cameto me years later" is a validation of the dynamic observations and conclusions drawn to adopt as my outlook and standard for myself, chosen already and practiced proven abilities that can stand alone with courage faing life or death. Brat opinion the cost of freedom for all is likely to be taken from every one who has it everyday Brat or Person born raised and staying in their hometown will experience homesickness at different levels. Not anything new about that really. What is new to me even and I don't mind admitting, I'm homesick for my hometown that's behind the Bse gates where the AP do not understand the word play, friend, be nice, rude. They speak the words that detect leaks of information that might jeopardize a freedom. AP Air Police man have you ever seen them guarding with their enlisted K9 airdogman? Behave in their presence is all you can do and come out mostly inscathed hha, the vibe is serious. I still miss my hometown Home is Any Air Base USA or overseas and my DOD schools my classmates. We got to class every morning and unconsciously do our own roll call before the teacher. Brats are seldom off school being heathy FR. But we usually knew when heavy battles were underway living on Guam. When our classmates dads flew out MITO in responding to a mission or as support for troops on the ground we Knew for a fact the SAM's accuracy of the VC was known to be lethal. Word travels fast base to base when life lost the highest consideration is for the dependants at home a wife and kids or Air Force Spouse and Brats, received the visit and given the news. The family is immediately wisked away either to where the body will arrive or to the AFSpouce choice of locations. So our classmates we know what they have suffered and given to gift the USA our hero fathers' was protecting everyone's freedom and we respect and feel the loss. That fuels us to live aware of freedom, it does have to wax and wan on many levels. Don't be fooled, freedom continues to ring farther than before but there will always be evil to reign in, keep at bay. Pray that there are always people who rise to qualify as War hobbiest having Peace as their profession. Aim High USAF.

The Rail Yard for the Bradleys was at Grafenwoehr. Spent many many days loading and unloading Brads back in the mid to late 90s and later early 2000s at Grafenwoehr. FYI, the old tracks for the Brad that had the track pin could keep up with the M1 just fine.

This is the military aircraft i always think about when I see those UFO sighting videos claiming to be from the "pentagon". 5:42 One video is recorded in all green kinda blurry with a triangle shaped aircraft flying high in the sky. There is another video claiming to be a UFO and its in black and white looks like the shape of this aircraft as if looking at it from behind it as if who ever was recording it was following it in another aircraft at same rate of speed keeping a set distance between them.

In 1985 I was on a family trip driving through the desert, I guess Utah or Nevada when we saw a black military looking plane in the distance that looked like a big flying wing. 4 years later it was obvious what we saw. Pretty cool in hindsight realizing we saw it before it was public knowledge....from a family station wagon.

As a civilian, I’d like to know how high does the IQ have to be for someone to be considered to pilot this beauty? Seriously 🎉incredibke ❤🙏🏻🇺🇸

Dobrý den, mohli byste někdy ukázat práci pilotů a navigatorů při letu i manévrů tohoto krásného letadla. Děkuji Miroslav

If this is “rush” take off than all B-2 bombers would be already destroyed in war conditions… It not takes “minutes” to get all squadron to the air but nearly an hour with all checks etc. ( That’s why B-2 used to take off from military base in Turkey not from bases in Afghanistan during “anti-Islamic war”) My grand grand father used to be a crew member at Avro Lancaster during WWII & he told me they have had to take off within 6 minutes when radar spotted first Messerschmitts over Canal LaManche…

man it must be so exhilarating to fly the B2. Wonder how difficult it is to qualify as a pilot?

Very impressive aircraft, but I still prefer the SR71 Blackbird as my personal favorite. I saw one here in Riverside, California at the March AFB plane museum.

In 1999, we shot down 2 of your F-117s, we damaged 2 more and they landed outside my country and we shot down a B-2, which crashed in Croatia in the Spačvanska forest / for 2 weeks you were carrying the remains with trucks, the army surrounded the crash site and on you ended up with a bulldozer, removing a layer of earth 2 meters thick...the one who hit him is even bigger...

09:30 if that plane had 20,900 sq. ft. of cargo area, it would be GIGANTIC! The C-17 has under 900 sq.ft. in cargo area(under 21k *CUBIC* ft.).
