True but estimation should be based on facts not generalisations. J20 is no fifth Gen fighter, it uses Chineese reverse engineered 4th gen Russian engines. Indian Su30MKI detected it from hundreds of Kms while patrolling the LAC.Few weeks back at Russian Tank competition Chinese VT4 tank wheel went flying off and it's crew had to jump out cos of ventilation issues. India won the competition. Chinese equioment is low Qual in both built design and build.

We will have 220 Tejas mk-1A, 5 squadrons of Tejas mk-2,260 su 30mki, 36 rafale,79 Mig-29 (Ready to retire),1or 2 squadrons of AMCA mk-1 +114(if mmrca is done) So total=41 or 42 squadrons. I think they are (150 AMCA+Tejas mk-2) not enough to counter a massive fleet of at least 300 J-20s.

@@satyasanatan401 See it's not that simple, you are ignoring ground based air def systems of which we have many. A good example is the situation between Rus and Ukr. Rus had large number of systems and of better quality than Ukr. Ukr had a total of just 50 jets and that too most were 4th gen and 3rd Gen. Rus had around 500 jets including Su35, Su30, Su27, upgraded Mig-29s etc.. Not to mention large advantage in miss and rockts... But guess what Ukr is still there and Rus is struggling. This despite Rus Ukr confl happening on relatively flat land and not terrain like Himalayas. In a fullscale engagement between India and China, China would need a 9 to 1 advantage in manpower on the ground to succeed... Which given current conditions is not possible. Also keep in mind, while China does enjoy advantage in the air, we enjoy advantage in the Indian Ocean and Land thanks to Himalayas and that is why China wil under no circumstance want a fullscale engagement with India. Instead they will find Khangress and INDI alliance parties as well as organizations in NE and Maowadis to try and create issues and bring Modi down from power... And disrupt India's economic growth.

China made several of ghosts cities quickly and they are falling apart even quicker than when they were built. China doesn't have the ability to make 1,000 F-35 quality J-20s nor does it have the money to keep them going. The J-20 will have to suffer a lot of sacrifices to get to 1,000.

Considering our economic resources, we can not match China in terms of the number of multi-role fighter planes. Therefore, our strategy should be focused on asymmetric warfare/weapons. If we can develop long-range electronic signal jamming systems during the said period, we can ensure that these 1000 fighter planes would become blind during their missions, and this may be only one of the asymmetric tools. A lot of the others may also be innovated.
