Deer puzzled by a visiting Bobcat

I looked out the living room window and saw three deer extremely focused on something in the little woods next to my house. I went outside, and into the woods to see what was concerning them. I didn't see anything. I realize now that the hidden critter probably saw me coming near him, and he blended into the scenery, as so many local critters here seem adept at doing. I asked the three deer what they were looking at, but as usual, they didn't answer.
I went into the house, upstairs to the living room and looked out the window. The critter had gone to the front yard and was laying down under a tree. The three deer were obsessed with watching him. I grabbed the camera and took this video. I think I was lucky not to startle this bobcat when I went walking in the woods. Although, I have to say, the guy looks well fed and pretty mellow. The deer followed him from the moment he came into the yard. They kept circling around him to look from different angles. The bobcat kept an eye on the three large deer keeping an eye on him, but he seemed unconcerned. He, or she, was certainly a beautiful creature.

Amazing Footage.Just goes to show that wild animals have rules of engagement and can share the same space. 😀
To me, the deer seemed to be too calm to the presence of the bobcat. Maybe they knew he wasn't a threat.
The cat seemed hot and was just looking for a place to cool off. The deer were curious maybe because he wasn’t threatening.

Deer were agitated, Bobcat didn't have peace either, as deer were expressing its presence.. Imagine a group staring you down, saying loudly "they're over here!" Essentially the deer were stalking the Bobcat, and held the advantage of not being surprised, and feline was in spotlight while trying to keep cool. Deer are more brave than we are lead to believe.
Understandably concerned deer..bobcats regularly prey on fawns, and are fully capable of taking down a full grown deer. The tactics are separate but effective, and very direct, very rapid.. they are highly adept strategic ambush felines, versus stalking from elevation like mountain lion and jaguar prefer..or pursuing like cheetahs or African lions They are a really interesting niche of the feline world. All part of the balance in the order of nature
My parents saw a bobcat and my mom said it looked like a big house cat when my dad zoomed in on it it was limping on 1 back leg
The bobcat seems to have a minor heat stroke
