Deeper With Jason Hook (Five Finger Death Punch)
Ойын-сауық
Jason Hook, guitarist of Five Finger Death Punch, stops by and talks in depth about how he got in the music world. His story began in Canada and then things shifted into overdrive when he made his way over to Los Angeles, CA. Hook also shares what it took to put together the documentary Hired Gun, touring with Five Finger Death Punch and his time touring with Alice Cooper. He'll also be our next guest on My Favorite Riff This Thursday.

This is the quickest I've ever clicked on a you tube video. Love Jason Hook!
Thx lads... great to hang out with you for a while... felt like I was in the room :)
What a down to earth, kindhearted guy. One of Nikki's best interviews. Fantastic
I didn't know who Jason was until Hired Gun. ( which was a brilliant doc btw ) But now am a huge fan. What a fantastic player but also a very down to earth guy. Much respect and great interview!!!

I mean Jason kinda sorta looks like Synyster in a very.. Older, but old syn look.
This by far one of the best interviews i have ever watched. I'm a huge fan of The Crue and now in the last 8 yrs, FFDP is by far one of my favourite bands. Seen both bands a number of times. Both bands are amazing Live. Live music is the ultimate way to experience any band. This interview has a lot of everything. I love talking about great musicians, and these 2 Nikki and Jason seem to me like their old friends. Enjoy and wouldn't it be great to see this 2 collaborate?? Enjoy, you'll be hearing from me a lot more. Cheers folks!
I can listen to this all night long. Love them stories
Its on Netflix now folks and it is more than worth the watch! I have watched it numerous times.
One of my favorite interviews on your channel, Nikki. Lots of real talk here and great insight into the behind the scenes stuff of rockstars

Canadian Musicians kick ass too!
Check out "Hired Gun" on Netflix. That's where I learned about this guy. He's paid his dues and is an incredible musician.

Great documentary! I have a new level of respect for Jason Hook after watching it.
Jason’s an awesome guitarist. Can’t wait to see what he does next post-FFDP.
Thanks Nikki for this interview. The best one yet. It's great to hear the true feelings and harshness of being on the road and livin the life.
I had a great time watching this, as always. Thanks for sharing guys, take care.
Jason is one hell of a Guy, a Rockstar's rockstar. Great interview, the chemistry between him and Nikki made it one of the best I've seen in a long time. Great fucking job.
This is the BEST interview I've seen in so long! Real talk, legit discussion from some serious industry heavyweights. Great insight for fans! Rock stars are people too! You guys are under so much pressure, but it's worth it to you so you can do what you love...all for our enjoyment. This makes me appreciate every entertainer so much more! Thanks for doing what you do! ☮️❤️🤘
A FFDP Motocross Jersey is on my bucket list!
This was an awesome segment! Now my favorite riff!
Great interview. I just watched Hired Gun this week, so this was very timely and insightful.
He seems like such a cool dude. Love this interview.
Loved this one. All of you are awesome.
Sixx is super cool and honest!! The one of the few REAL DUDES
Great interview. Nice to see what just seems like to be a real convo between friends.
This was a great 'interviewsation' (interview/conversation) that gave me a much better understanding of the Rock Star life and challenges. I have a tremendous respect for Jason Hook for his passion in creating this documentary and will definitely check it out. I really like FFDP and hope Ivan can get and keep it together. Great Show! Keep them coming!
Awesome interview.
Loved it! Tech has come a long way. Old school in my opinion is still the best way. :)
Great video, I learn something every time I see one.
I would buy that book!! Great show :)
Fantastic interview...I like Jason but now I like him more AND oh my god, I love me some Jenn
Great show!! Jason and Nikki two of the best!
A great interview, Nikki! Jason Hook - a great player and a great guy. Hired Gun - one of the best rockumentaries ever. SO interesting to hear you guys talk about the reality of touring, and how the long hauls can affect you. John Lennon said the same thing about how there's always someone (from the moment you leave the hotel room to the moment you shut the door in the next one) who needs something from you. It ain't just 2 hours a night on stage.
WOW, these guys are so cool. Honest talking, very authentic. Not like rock stars with an attitude but simply great guys.
Still have Jason Hook’s guitar pic from almost a year ago. I’d love to be a drummer and Five Finger Death Punch has inspired that.
Great interview. I really enjoyed it
I loved HiredGun, it's on Netflix over here
Looking forward to thursday
Best video....ever!!!??!
Five finger death punch is very very awesome I have 3 albums great great albums have a great day everyone
Loved watching this. Amazing guys and lady. I bought hired gun right after watching. Doing my part helping Jaso get his 8cents.
Not familiar with this fellow's band but I'm gonna say that he's really well spoken. I enjoyed this interview!
It sucks...Dec 31 St is his last radio show... I really enjoy watching this
Love you Jason your awesome
"you know i don't like going in there" :D Poor Stefanie :D
Very cool show🎸🎹📽🎬🎩🎢🎡🎪🎧🎶🎵
Placer verte y escucharte Nikki. Te admiro y quiero.😍🔥🎸🤘🌟❤🐶❤🐶❤😘😘😘🇦🇷
Jenn is adorable
I did not know Jason was Canadian, so I looked it up and found out he was born in Toronto.
I have to comment after hearing about Jason jumping off the drum riser in converse shoes. And he and Nikki should write a Rule Book of what NOT to do on stage. While I was touring with " the impotent sea snakes " , We did a Huge show playing the Wacken Open Air Fest. Well.... I jumped down to the lower level at the end of the set... Total jump first and land... While I was wearing my "Mad Max" motorcycle boots with the metal plate on the shin. Remember those? Well I ended up slicing the top of my shins as the metal slid through. I knew it , but kept on holding that last chord as to not ruin the DVD they were recording.... Good stuff
Hired gun documentary talked about also on Netflix :)
I have to say I do understand what it’s like when you’re on tour and it finishes and then you’re like “Well what do I do now?” I’m not in a band I’m actually still in school but I work in my schools musicals. I’m crew not cast but 2-3 times a week and on an odd Saturday or full school day we’ll be rehearsing. So after the musicals finish Im kinda like, well what do I do with all this free time now? I spent 2 and a half hours after school backstage, and it’s like so weird when I no longer do that. So in a way I can understand what musicians are like when their tours end. I hope that one day I can be a musician performing on stage, I really look up to Jason Hook
Hooked on Hook! ... Cool Guy!
Hyundai Pony, same as Dodge Colt? 😎 you could always find me because of the trail of paint chips that flew off as I drove down the road. 😆
This should be on the history channel
Happy birthday Nikki \m/
noooo fuuuuuck i didnt see this guy for years and hes doing coool stuff on 5fdp you did impressed me guys awesome interview to watch nice nikki nice jenn
And... What do you know. Vince was apparently the pro. Respect! 😎
"I'm not superficial"😆😆😆 They're not, since listening requires full attention. Jen on the helm😍

Jason Kansas is dope carry on dude come on to much hair gel haha and fyi I love finger death punch one of my favorite bands
I met Jason years ago when he was playing with Vince Neil. They played in Baltimore and Jason came out after the show. He was really nice to everyone and I talked to him for a long time. Now he blew up and I'm happy for him . His band sucks but he's not bad.
That KISS shirt. Where is that available?
Hard to believe Jason once played with Hillary Duff..but still a big fan of FFDP
i will smoke more weed now thank you sixx senseee
He left out Berklee and Mandy Moore! I want to know what that was like touring with Mandy Moore as opposed to some of the other acts he’s played with, and I’d also like to know about how he felt when Death Punch got their first big stage show, with giant props, explosions and fire (since he’s a big KISS/Motley/Alice fan)!
I think 5 finger death punch is cheesy bad metal but I love Jason Hook. He is super cool. I respect 5 finger's success. Just not my type of music but man he is a cool dude.
1:23 "You know I don't like going in there!" Then he chuckles!! He so damn cute!! A bit of a brat to his girl, but cute!! LOL
Good night nurse!!!!! Two of the most beautiful guitarist & rockers I have ever seen in the same room. I 10 am and I am going in awe!!! Loving this, but you two could be speaking pig latin and I would still be completely locked in. WAIT IS THAT SEXUAL HARASSMENT??? IF IT IS "I AM STRANGELY COMFORTABLE WITH IT" ( homage to CONNOR & MURPH IN THE 'BOONDOCK SAINTS') "TO MUCH TOO SOON, BUT THERE IT WAS!!"' LOVE JASON TO MUCH, AND NIKKI I OWE YOU MY LIFE. THAT'S IS FOR ANOTHER TIME & PLACE. 5FDP YOU NEVER HAS DISAPPOINTED, AND THE WORK YOU DO FOR THOSE WITHOUT A PLATFORM OR THE OPPORTUNITY YOU HAVE TO SPEAK FOR THE MASSES! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!
Haha.... You're in the band Five Finger Death Punch, that was popular for 5 seconds in the mid-2000s and no one's heard of since. Comparing your troubles to someone that was in mötley crüe is insane .... That being said I am very happy that you got sober. We all got our demon.
And @ Nikkii..fishing sometimes requires time.
song at the beginning?

Ronnie McKenzie Generic music Bed, we dont know where it came from but we love it
And Jen@: He said, he has a wife😆😙
Pssshhh. I saw Bush a few months ago and they gave a great show.
Yeah that stuff about convers is very true. They are extremely comfortable...... until you jump. This is why we need those all wahs coming out. They should have a bit extra padding under them with all that circuitry. Lol
I love The Hired Guns I think what Billy Joel did was rotten she was my go to in music. I've always been more of a heavy metal hard rock type of guy but Billy Joel was my soul music Escape music and I'm hurt emotionally and spiritually by what he has done to his band members. They're not hired guns their band members their people. It sucks that I can't listen to that asshole anymore it's a whole part of my life and I loved and some selfish son of a bitch have to take it from me. Thanks Billy hole
Lots of Xanax for to Long and good Cali weed umm what was I saying?
Jen is cute
Hmmmmm.
Holy FUCK!!! $70,000? Did I hear that right?

Jody Free she said “70 hundred” afterwards. For 70 grand it better damn near shred itself.
I swear, if Jason changed his hair he would look like Steve from Stranger Things.
Make Zakk wylde the new guy for sixx sense or make him a show
Umm, combat boots. Better ankle support than One Star's.
....and... Aware of the band. Honestly... don't know the dude. Fit, fine and no red wine(..). And able to play😀🤗
I like this guy, but I can’t take anyone with a face tattoo seriously.

Because a face tattoo changes what kind of person one is. You should think about how silly that comment of yours was.

Ray Torvalds No. Because it proves what kind of person one is. My personal opinion. I think less of ANYONE with tattoos. Jason seems like a super nice, all around good guy. I just don't like tattoos.

I like Hook as a player. But I can't stand his band, Five Finger Death Punch. I don't know what it is..but something is strange about thing. They are kind of 'hick' or something. I've always referred to them as the Insane Clown Posse of rock. There is just something 'try hard' about them.

Jason hook could do so much better then this amature hour
The guy that should have been left in the dumpster show
No he doesn’t care about moms and kids
