    Hi Kyle. What an awesome review and to be honest the best one on tyres I have ever come across on KZread. I am from Namibia and now live in Botswana. I reckon that qualifies as a fair bit of sand, rock and general off road terrain. I have used various tyres on my 990 and now 1290 adv R. Your assessments are spot on. I have used Mitas E07, E07plus,E09, E10 i think it was called, Pirelli Scorpion, TKC80 and also the Heidenau Scout 60. One of our major challenges are distance. A weekend could see you do 1500-2500 KM. Therefore whilst the full out dirt oriented tyres are great off road they are compromised terms of life span. I can't be buying tyres every second weekend and therefore live with the slightly less capable tyres off road that lasts a bit longer. Personal preference. Herein lies the rub i think for most adventurers!! From the sound of it then if you had to make a call on my criteria it would be the Motoz Tractionator GPS rear and TKC80 up front?? However the reason for posting is that I never realized how much of a difference tyres really make off road until I saw this review. I am amazed and certainlyt his has changed my thinking. A mate of mine is only starting off road now on his GS1200. The first trip out he had 80/20 Road biased tyres on and I now realize that for an experienced rider it may not be such a big issue. However for someone getting onto dirt for he first time and having to experience movement foe the first time, it must be hell of a scary!! We now have him on TKC80's and I suspect it will make a hell of a difference in getting his confidence up. Lastly, please keep one tyre constant and review the different bikes used performances off road in the terrain you tested on. Changing my worn TKC80s today for a new set of MOTOZ Tractionator Adv. Looking forward to having grip again! Cheers from 🇧🇼

    Amazing video (as always !!!). I 100% agree with you about the Scorpion Rally (non-STR) tire. It was always my favorite offroad/sand front tire on the Africa Twin. They even lasted longer than I expected. The only reason why I didn't buy them again was the noise level which is insane. Right now my favorite combo is the Motoz Rallz in the rear and a TKC80 in the front. I often think about to switch back to the Scorpion Rally front tire with a Rallz in the rear, but on pavement I prefer the TKC80 for sure. Again thank you for all the great review videos :-)

    Kyle Bradshaw what you did is a dream job! I would love to test tires out and the dedication and time you put into this has paid off enormously as it is a terrific review and video. I’m not trying to sharp shoot, I wish there was a little bit more information on the Scorpion Rally and a little bit more time on it in the video. I have taken that tire to at least 90 miles an hour on the highway and I have comfortably and slowly increase my lean angle on it to where I felt fine but others said they thought I was on a slick on my 990. Once the pilot has excepted a little bit of squish, a little bit of give as the knobs flex, I feel very confident in this tire and it is my go to front for everything off-road. The rear just hooks up but wears far too quickly. I will try a Scorpion Rally front w a Motoz Rallz 140 rear for my next BDR. STOKED!!!!!! Thanks again Kyle. You are an ADV Peeeeemp.

    Hay mate Paul from Australia, I talked to you about the GoldenTyre GT723 , I spooned up last week . I have ran the K60, 805,804, and Motoz ADV, Desert HT & Rallz as well in recent few years . So best rear I have had so far has been the Rallz ( for all conditions) a fantastic rear tyre . Front I cannot get past the Pirelli M21 Rallycross . ( it’s a freak of nature tyre that works fantastic in ALL conditions. The GoldenTyre GT 723 is not as good on gravel roads and the Rallz . It has great 👍 forward momentum but tends to skip out ( then bite again ) unlike the Rallz that’s progressive. On Asphalt the GoldenTyre 723 is VERY sticky and I road it in a extremely heavy downpour, was great 👍 ( even done your trick and gunned it to see if the back would let go but it didn’t. So on road as good as the Rallz , off road ( on gravel and lose surfaces - some sand ) not as good . Will get back to you about the GT performance on single track steep hill climbs and muddy conditions and durability. Regards Paul

    This is a great suggestion. I have videos showing repairs being done in the wild as well as R&R with trail side tools in my garage. • @cyclopathic998

    Thanks for the reviews! As for tire pressure some of them have harder casting so 30psi could be too hard for Mitas and K60 and too soft for TKC80 and Shinko. IMHO you would have been better off dropping 2-4psi on some and adding some on others.. considering that some are TT and others are TL with much stiffer sidewalls.

    @@manybikes yeah that's the nature of the beast. Perhaps you could test them at 30psi and recommend that this tire likes to be at 26/30 or this at 30/33 f/r? The only other way to get them even if you put it on sharp corner and judge by how it confirms.. sort of a durometer-like deflection test. On pavement I usually judge by temperature just run it for 1/2hr then take glove off and put hand on it should be warm but not hot

    A few thoughts: 1- I take it the Pirelli Scorpions were the best of the bunch? Did I miss the rankings? 2- What are the chances you could do a video comparing mismatched tires? Like the best overall rear tire seems to be the RallZ- what’s the best front? What are some other mixes? 3- you should compare the bikes and the tires - tho that might upset some people, (like me if Africa Twin doesn’t come out on top) and that might also be a complex matrix of comparisons

  • @manybikes

    @manybikes

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes. Yes. and Yes. 1- Scorpions were 100% the best "dirt bike tire" 2- I have a list of mixed front and rear tires that I like... but have not done anything with it. I really like the TrailMax Mission Front + TKC70 Rocks Rear and the Motoz RallZ Rear + Bridgestone AX41 Front. 3- As for bikes, they are very different. If you watch the tire test videos... "how I ride" each bike is very different. The AT is WAY better in the twisties than my KTM. But the KTM is WAY easier to ride off-road. The CB500X was "light" and I could "flat foot" so what was an obstacle on the big bikes I walked over with the little bike. They all work differently, that is for sure!

    ADV Peru Pirelli Scorpion Rally is amazing in the sand, the Motoz RallZ or the Dunlop Rally RAID does well too...

    Kyle Bradshaw So I’ve spent all day checking with Pirelli, MotoZ, Dunlop and Michelin and Conti , to figure out what tires are available in Lima. Result: TKC 80, MotoZ Adventure and Mitas E-10. Which of the three would you pick?

    ADV Peru I’m a huge fan of the Motoz tires in general. The Mitas E10 is fantastic too... instagram.com/p/B9ke7APHfTX/?igshid=1399usfmlckgn

    Kyle Bradshaw k60 scout vs tractionator gps both specified by there manufacturers to be 50/50 tire would be great comparison video but adding a tractionator rallz 90/10 to the mix its not fair. I subscribed to the channel great work 👍
