@@driveltved I am 70 and had joined the army in 72, i was brought up on tijuana brass etc, i took motown cassettes to boot camp, heard this biker dude playing Machinehead! I asked him what it was and was hooked.That dude changed my musical life!!! I wish i could THANK HIM!!! It is now 6 days later and i just remembered he told me what a FURBURGER was, so once again i have been hooked on them as well!!😄

This band shits all over the doors let me tell you, I'm only 39 but it blows me away that there was music like this way back then. I'd give anything to cruise those old cars bumin with this blastin.

Memories of my youth, still Space Truckin' in 2024

In 1972 I was 12 years old. My Father gave me $10.00 to buy my Mother a Christmas present. I purchased Machine Head on 8-track and when opened it she said "Purple is my favorite color!" We played it and she loved it. Dad was a little []... but mom grooved to it! Deep Purple still holds up today 51 years later. What an incredibly cool time to be a kid! Even McDonald's tasted better back then riding around jamming to this dead on rockin' jamming! I was and still am a lucky duck for hearing Deep Purple!!!

what music did your father like? I feel I'd be the same with today's music, if my son listened to trap I wouldn't appreciate it at all. sure I wouldn't stop him from listening to it, but it sound horrible to me! hahaha

The fact that 'Smoke On The Water' is the most recognized track on this album... Highway Star?? Space Truckin'?? LAZY?? This album is an absolute masterpiece.

Yes! Deep Purple is now our memory. About those times when the Lord was alive and young. Gillan gave out in his throat such that goose bumps ran through his body. Pace was flying drums. Glover made his own unique bass track. And Richie turned his guitar into something heavenly and magical. It was Deep Purple! I was sitting as a kid in a small Kamchatka village on the ocean shore. And with trembling hands he put on the turntable the "Machine Head" disc, which my father brought me from Japan. And then the divine flowed from the speakers - Smoke on the Water .....

Only by top of the pops fans. In my opinion it's the lamest track on the album. Maybe because it was thrashed so much?? Kinda like Stairway by Zep was..

I'm essentially a Zep fan, but anyone who likes rock has to have this album in their collection.

Saw Deep Purple 50 years ago. They played almost every track off Machine Head. A concert to remember for life!

I saw Deep Purple and Bad Company on the Perfect Strangers tour... great show.

Deep Purple- Machine Head (1972). In 1976, I was introduced to Deep Purple's Machine Head on an 8-track tape player, continuous loop (non-stopping) until it is stopped. Going to sleep with headphones on, listening to Deep Purple playing, then waking up to Deep Purple still playing. What an amazing summer of 1976. Namaste.

@bcmcboot The funny thing about that car, was this twisted 8 track player.The previous owner, left one of these tapes. I think, it was Ki⚡️⚡️. Then a gear shifting lever, fell off, so I used a vise grip pliers, in order to engage the different position. It was a gas guzzler, as well.😄

I was 5 years old when this album came out. My uncle had the album and played it. I was floored. Instead of playing with my friends I was in the house listening to this. The memories and journey never stops. This album came along the way. Thanks for this. 👍🤘

DEEP PURPLE! A Machine God Band I call them. No weak albums. One of my all time favorite rock bands. Probably contributed a lot of influences to other bands until now. And hey! its now 2024! Ian Paice's drum skills is insane!

One of the deepest and greatest hard rock albums in human history ☮️

“Pictures of Home” hits different for me. My dad always played it in the car rides whenever I was younger, I never understood why he loved this song so much. But now I look back & realize he was always working 1-2 weeks at a time & never HOME. He was always on the road & “alone here” for lack of better words looking at pictures of home. I love my dad & am thankful for all the sacrifices he’s made for my family to have what we have while still introducing me to some super dope music! I take pride in my dad being a huge deep purple fan & passing the songs onto his kid - ME! lol I don’t think any of my other siblings experienced it like me 😂

2nd Album I bought as a teenager, still have it and framed on my wall... 62 yrs old and still love TURNING IT UP!!

I’m 58…… I’ve listened to music my whole life….. This effort is a definite perfect rock group undertaking….. The best rock drummer and in the pocket bassist ….EVH type on synth and keys…riff master guitarist ….vocal gawd…. Don’t do without this….

I'm 55 - this was my very first album my uncle introduced me to when I was a kid. I've been a headbanger ever since ! 🤟

As a young teen, this was one of my first albums. Also one of my first concerts. Still don't know how I talked my parents into that one! What an intro into rock music... a love that still lasts today! Thank You guys for opening my ears 😎✌

Моя музыка детства, мог слушать целыми ночами на Романтике, а был ещё в 3-м классе, спасибо дяде, что иногда забывал магнитофон у бабушки в деревне на выходные... Дело молодое , только из армии, девчёнки и всё прочее.. А у меня была катушечная Романтика-супер техника СССР, и ДипПёрпл на всю ночь!!!!! Спасибо ребята за этот Дыыыыым!

Мои воспоминания детства : записал на катушку на Маяк-203/5 , уже не помню ...и каждый вечер летом , балкон настежь и пацаны с моего двора сидят за столиком под окнами , рубятся в домино/карты и кричат - Смок им за ворот ... Прошло 50 лет , почти все умерли , жизнь подкосила , а великая музыка всегда переживёт нас , грешников ...

Deep Purple is always my favourite band !! They are great !!! I went to see their concert once in Bournemouth , England .

I was 16 when I discovered this album . I am 42 now and it's still a banger . That year I also discovered Rush - Moving Pictures , Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy , Black Sabbath - Masters of Reality and Frank Zappa - Apostrophe .. Amazing year !!!

Was introduced to this album in the 8th grade in spring of '72. Space Truckin' was the 1st tune I heard. Fell in love with Deep Purple & been in love with them since.

This album is simply perfect. All the songs are excellent. In my opinion, it's the band's best album.

Tinha 16 aninhos em 1972. Machine head foi um petardo na cabeça dos adolescentes que curtiam Rock and Roll. Um petardo de Toneladas de Rock pesado. Era e continua sendo uma paulada. Machine head e In Rock os dois melhores albuns do Deep Purple. Hoje tenho 67 anos. Diretamente de Taquaritinga Brazil.

This is the first album I listened to in English language, it was on a cassette tape and I was in Havana Cuba, about 7 years old ... I listen to a lot of music now- mainly heavy metal (new and old) but Deep Purple remains my favorite band of all time! ... especially this lineup 🤟🍻

I’ve listened to about 70~ new albums in the past few weeks and I seriously think Machine Head reigns supreme over all of them

Pure emotion. Feeling flows. All beautiful tracks. Divine inspiration? One of the great bands of the 70's. For me the best. Congratulations Eternal Deep Purple.

Pure Rock, never gets old, awesome album . For years to come.

A timeless incredible classic which will live forever in ROCK history!

In 1972 Machine Head put Purple in number 1 as best rock band,too bad Blackmore and Gilan couldn't resolve their differences..awesome band!

As of 3 years ago Purple were touring with an Augusta, Ga. native on guitar. The great Steve Morse of Dixie Dregs fame.

It is hard rock album # 1 of all time!!!

The best rock album ever recorded. Can't think of a better, more consistently-excellent one. Every member at this stage was a virtuoso. Incredible talent and ability, and a casual approach, off-hand and superb. Everyone calls Deep Purple Ritchie Blackmore's group but I'd say maybe it was Jon Lord's. And you need every one of them to produce this level of material.

Richie Blackmore brought his magic to Rainbow for the timeless album Long Live Rock n Roll, but there was something missing compared to this album. I think it was Jon Lord's keyboard skills.

Второй состав он и есть второй состав. Самый мощный и самый удачный. Все на месте-Блэкмор, Пэйс,Гиллан,Гловер,Лорд. Лучший состав.Лучшая группа.Лучший хард на все века и времена!!!! Дип Перпл навеки и навсегда!!!!!!!!!

@@user-xm1ho2vw7v Это мои мысли Петр. Назимова я не знаю. Удивительно- как наши фамилии схожи-Назмеев, Назимов. Хотя конечно тоже совпадение. Наверное такой же фанат Дип Перпл как и я. С детства.

@@user-vc6zw3mg2x Володя играл в Агате Кристи, Чайфе, Чиж и к, Наутилусе. Когда приезжал Блэкмор с женой в Москву, он ездил . Потом рассказывал, что народные напевы Англии, это ни Диппы.

@@user-xm1ho2vw7v Конечно не Дипы. Впрочем как и его группа ,,Радуга,,Это нечто другое. Дипы могли быть только в том составе о котором я написал. И музыка которую они делали тоже .Даже сейчас в нынешнем составе увы. От Дипов там почти ничего. Дип Перпл это теперь наша память. О тех временах когда был жив и молод Лорд. Гиллан выдавал своей глоткой такое что по телу пробегали мурашки. Пэйс летал на барабанах. Гловер делал свою неповторимую басовую дорожку. А Ричи превращал свою гитару в что то небесное и волшебное. Это был Дип Перпл! Я сидел пацаном в маленьком камчатском поселке на берегу океана. И дрожащими руками ставил на проигрыватель диск ,,Machine Head ,, который отец мне привез из Японии. И тогда из колонок лилось божественное-Smoke on the Water......А так называемый русский рок я не слушал никогда. Это после того что прослушивал ежедневно казалось смешным плагиатом. Поэтому я и не знаю Назимова.

I remember stealing my dads cd binder as a kid just to listen to this album and some other bands lol im 30 now and i still jam too this album 🤘💀🤘

When my older brothers left home a number of LPs got left behind and Machine Head was one of them. This baby got played over and over again on my old turntable. It is superb!

Thank you for these memories I was 12 when they edited it. Now I am 61 years old and it seems that it was not long ago.

Deep Purple Machine Head is in my possession ( plastic ) proud … one of the best bands I’ve ever heard of ever time ( yes we had LZ and ELO. …… ) Having been in a great friendship with Roy Wood .. ( I didn’t tell him ). ….. proud owner of 70 is concert ticket

Honestly -- to me -- "Machine Head " is one of the ABSOLUTE BEST albums ever recorded -- only beaten by Dark Side of the Moon. Gillian's vocals, Paices drums and Blackmores guitar are unbeatable.
