I was there, on the grass to the left, Never heard of GNR but after the show they became my fav, couldn't remember much about the sound issues, might have something to do with vodka and fighting to stay up rite during their set, people were getting stomped, taken away by ambulance, felt like we were fighting for our lives , it was awesome! Deep Purple was by far the best of the night, Blackmore was great! Love Aerosmith but not that night, left during the middle of the show. BEST CONCERT EVER!

Funny how bands like gnr didn't have a rock n roll generation to come up after them. Record companies cut the heart out all of those bands and forced flannel metal on the world. And that died in 3 years or less only to be replaced by shit like Ricky Martin and britney spears by the end of the decade. So sad
