Ойын-сауық

Subscribe to Munchies here: bit.ly/Subscribe-to-MUNCHIES
In this episode of Al-Kee-Hol, our host Billy Wagner takes us on a tour through Frankfurt's Sachsenhausen district to visit several traditional Ebbelwoi pubs serving the tart, cider-like beverage known as Apfelwein. He tastes many different versions of this golden-colored booze and sets out to discover how Apfelwein came to be the locals’ favorite.

Very nice vid! I just have to correct one thing. "En fuenfer bembel" does not mean 5 liters, it means 5 Gerippte (the traditional glasses ebbelwoi is drunken from) full with Ebbelwoi. One Geripptes has appr. 0.25L, so a 5er Bembel is appr. 1.25L. Usually they make it quite full so you get 1.5L. Anyhow, very good Vid and nice to see my hometown on munchies!

James T Kirk Well, our dubs are the best in the world and what do you even care? You do realise that there are also old people who never had the chance to learn english? And what has any of this got to do with this video? You are contradicting yourself. Either you want everything dubbed or you want subtitles. You seem to want subtitles, subtitles you've got. Why are you moaning? They are german people, why should they speak english? Because it's convenient for you? Go to France and try your luck there.

Frieda "Having the best dubs in the world" isn't exactly something to toot your horn about... I don't hear any Dutch, Belgians, Scandinavians or Finns complain about not being literate enough to read subtitles. The reasons subtitles are better is because it reinforces the language that you (Germans) learned in school, instead of just allowing you to forget the 6-9 years of English that you learned in school. I've been to France 3 times, and have had relatively good luck with using English there, thanks. :)

James T Kirk Do i make the impression not to know how to speak english? I've left school over 16 years ago. I still don't get why it matters to you? It's not really any of your concern, is it? Most people use english all the time, be it on the internet, with friends from around the world or through music. And if people want to watch un-dubbed movies they can do so whenever they please. Options are plenty. A lot of people don't even own TV anymore. neither do i. And our children don't speak english. Do you want to deny them to watch movies in their own language?
