DEEP DRIFTING ONTARIO BROWNS AND LAKERS

My first attempt deep drifting with spinner rigs on Lake Ontario. I was expecting a lake trout if anything, but actually ended up catching a nice brown which was interesting. I think bottom bouncing one or two rods with spinner rigs, while vertical jigging with a third rod, could be a fun and effective alternative to trolling on the right day. I look forward to trying it again in the near future.

That cow bell rig looked interesting but very effective. Nice little brown, good eater.

I need to find a few more of those rigs so I can drag two rods next time. By the way, send some of that cool lake water you guys are hoarding up there down to the south shore will ya? 😁

I'm coming up this weekend trying to target salmon. I was hoping to get some casting but in you opinion what's the more effective trolling the lake or casting the river mouths at dawn and dusk. I'm good on bringing waders and getting in the creeks haha. Thanks!

Both can be effective, but the casting has been better than the trolling for me the last couple weeks. Also it's WAY more fun catching them casting in my opinion. Definitely target the river mouths at dawn and dusk as you mentioned. Casting spoons and stick baits can both be effective. I'll be out there this weekend too, good luck 👍

@@MudSharkZ thank you! I normally come up from ohio a few times throughout the summer and get my fix but work hasn't allowed me to do much fishing this year. I'm hoping for at least a couple light tackle bites while I'm up! I appreciate the info and good luck to you this weekens also!!
