Hello guys, This is my second guide of many about an Ableton device. On this one I wanted to start with the first synth, The ANALOG. This is a complete deep dive, not a review. So we will go trough pretty much all the controls. Hope you like it.

Sure, i will cover all synths. The other request is sound design, I will do something. But in a little while when I have a bit more content and subs. I've done that in the past and if you don't have a lot of subs ( Ableton users ), the video bombs badly. This was my second Ableton video, so I need to wait a bit more.

Is high resonance bad for headphones/speakers? Resonance in Analog sounds so sharp and piercing compared to a lot of other synths I have. Helpful video btw.

i don't think so. But Super lows push your speakers really hard. If you are experiencing some noise or maybe very thin sound when you sweep some frequencies, and the headphones or the speakers have a hard time to play that without weird noises, maybe is time to start saving for some new headphones. If you force you gear, it will go down eventually. Right now, my main headphones are having that problem, some frecuencies are in trouble if a push it, so it's time to get a replacement. Used them for 5 ears, every day. So I cannot really complain.

@@XNBeatsMusic Yeah! When I am using analog, I always turn down the volume Whenever I mess around with resonance and formant filter. It can get pretty wild. Thanks for answering.

@@nervousneighbour yes it's normal. That's how some analog filters sound, they go wild when you turn up the resonance. it's a good thins if the synth is trying to emulate analog. Cheers mate :)

Great explaination. Love this stuff from you. I am wondering which Oscillator you are using to visualize the waveform? At leat this is not Ableton native.

are you switching over to ableton from bitwig?

  • @XNBeatsMusic

Hello. No, I am covering different DAW's. I've been using DAW's for 25 years. So for me is never switching, is use this or the other one. They are tools to me. If a client gives me an Ableton I work on Ableton if is producing, if is just mixing I work on Studio one, if I need to create, depends on the Genre I use Bitwig or FL sometimes. So I take no sides, they are tools.

@@XNBeatsMusic I have been thinking the same, using cubase beside bitwig. the pas years Ive been trying and learning all the daws I was intrested in and ended up with bitwig but since I have learned what other does are capable of I just can't use bitwig the same way for recording vocals and matching them and mixing... but the producing side of bitwig is fun.

Yeah, I do that. the best tool for producing or making beats or whatever you want to call it is Bitwig and Ableton, but...if I want to mix and master, I mean really do it. I take the stems to studio one and finish the job. They are tools, you use them to do whatever you want. it's different from the past, today is super easy to create something and then export and continue elsewhere.
