Deep cleaning the Ninja Foodi MAX Smartlid 15-in-1- How To Clean Ninja Foodi MAX Smartlid.
I used some of the following items from Amazon (affiliate links) ;
Oxo Good Grip Brush amzn.to/3OA5xMP
Sonic Scrubber amzn.to/4biTcqd
The Pink Stuff amzn.to/3OxJmH7
Ninja Foodi 15-in-1 amzn.to/3UrVEo4
I deep cleaned my Ninja foodi after 3 months of regular use. It took a while and I really ought to have been steaming it regularly to stop the build up but I managed to get it looking respectable again although not perfectly clean. You can PC or steam as many times as you need to soften the build up. A bit of elbow grease, a strong toothbrush and some pink stuff will help. Soaking the rubber ring will help remove any lingering odours. Don't forget to wipe up the rest of the machine too. Be careful not to mess with the fan in the lid. Good luck!

Excellent video, thanks so much! I got mine last week and was rather anxious about how to clean it. Gotta love The Pink Stuff and the Sonic Scrubber!
I love it that you had Alvin and the chipmunks giving you cleaning advice in the background
Thank you this was very helpful 🙂
Great video, I’ll be adding the small brush and water spray too. I used bicarb, lemon juice and white vinegar.
Thanks for this, I’ll make sure to steam clean mine often. Going to look for a sonic scrubber as well, looks like a really handy tool. 👍🏻👍🏻😀😀
Congrats on 1K
Thanks , Thank you..Greetings from the Netherlands.
I use Krud Cutter it works excellent! No harmful fumes
My ninja foodie smart lid arrived but its edges near the belt from top inside is little bit sharp from some points is it normal or should i exchange kindly reply any body thanks
Thank you for the video. How do you clean the top of the wheel under the fryer Basket?

It pushes off. Push the two opposing ‘corners’ and it drops off. Give it a wash and click it back on.
The new XL series has self cleaning mode n just 1lid to cook all 3 modes!!

If you mean the pressure mode, that doesn't seem to clean any black (burnt) grease that gets on the element which can make a pretty horrible smell the next time you cook. Is there another mode that's more thorough, which I've missed?
First, great video. Thanks for the detailed walkthrough. If you don't mind a question though...: Would you recommend the 'smartlid' over the 2 piece model. I LOVE my old one, but after years it is dying on me. I was planning to get the Deluxe XL model with extra lid, but then found this one. I do a lot of saucy stuff, and find that I need to wash my lid very often... Is this cleaning process worth not having the extra lid and the steam crisp?

Hi Adam, thanks for the positive feedback! I can’t speak to the double lid model since this is my first ever Ninja but from the comments I’ve been reading most people are happy to be rid of the lid switching - also the steam crisp is one of the biggest selling points and works really well. If you keep on top of the cleaning then you shouldn’t need such a thorough clean regularly as it is time consuming. So steam clean as regular as you can and then a deep clean every so often should keep things looking good 👍🏽

Hey adam which one did you end up choosing? I own the deluxe and its awesome, i would only upgrade to this if i knew the steam crisp is better than just air frying.

With the smart lid version, you clean the lid the same way. It just incorperates the pressure valve into one lid, so the cleaning process for the lid with the coils in it is the same as in this video. The pressure lid is a snap to clean by itself, since it's off the machine and there isn't anything in the way. I still prefer our Smartlid Cooker anyway though. It doesn't really get too dirty as long as you stay on top of it, and there isn't an extra lid that you need to find a place to store.

Thank you for the video, I haven't used the pink stuff yet, I did try the lemon without success, I do mine once a month on 15/20 minute pressure cook with a dishwasher tab, seems to work well. I will definitely try the pink stuff for any hard parts 😊

Gotta be careful to get rid of all 'The Pink Stuff'. Sodium silicate is an irritant

I touched the heating spiral with food accidently and it is burnt. Do you have any tips on how to clean it and does it affect the cooking because the top is black and burnt
@livelearnexplore

I would try and clean it with bicarbonate as much as I’d possible because it may cause smells or smouldering - it shouldn’t affect the heat/cooking process though.

When you turn on air fryer it will emit black smoke and it happened with me thrice with cooking lentils and I replaced cuz was in warranty but I literally hate this appliance now lemon and bicarb just does nothing to lentils boiled n touched the grill coil.
Ive tried on mine every way to get the anti cog cap off to clean . It will not budge…. any tips?

Use a tea towel & get a firm grip of it - then gently turn this way & that whilst pulling towards you at the same time…keep adjusting your grip if need be & persevere 💪🏽 it’s not difficult or tight just a little fiddly that’s all.
What is the pink stuff you are using

It’s a cleaning paste called ‘the pink stuff’ available in most supermarkets or online in the UK.
Can you just replace the heating element? and if yes the when can I buy it? i have been through the whole internet. nothing...

How do you keep your inner pot scratch-free? My pot, before a year old, already had scratches and black dots on the bottom, apparently the coated ceramic is starting to come off
@livelearnexplore

Hi! unfortunately my pot also started to show wear and tear which is why I got the stainless steel pot which is much more durable. However in general try to use silicone utensils with the original pot and be as gentle as possible. All the best!

Why did you not remove the seal ring? How does it go back on? I want to make sure I put it on the proper way. Thank you
@tanganman

I assume you're asking why he DID remove it, no? You just pull it out and then slip it back in around the wire - doesn't matter which side since it's symmetric.
Far too long ...I certainly wouldn't be using Pink Stuff on my ninja 15 in 1. One rule of cooking thoroughly clean after use and after every few major cooking lemon, bicarb and water on steam. For 15 /20 mins...works everytime keeping it clean

Does it clean burnt (black) grease on the element? I find that leaving that on the element will make the next cook give off a really nasty smell.

Make sure the seal is in place rub a little vaseline around the seal
Pink stuff is abrasive I’d use caution using that on something like this
So nothing you cook after this tastes like soap? Steaming it does that magnificent a job of removing all traces of soap from all interior surfaces? Cuz the next pressure cook, all the water condenses up in there and drips down on the food. I'm not sure how this thing can work with a non-removable lid, it seems like anything you cook, especially pressure cook, will make anything you put in next time taste like that. How can you clean all the tastes/odors from all the impossible to reach surfaces of that lid after pressure cooking? Or how do you keep the greasy coating from previous air frying from dripping down and tainting food the next time you pressure cook?

So the residue of the pink stuff falls into your meal. Enjoy.
Will you come and do mine 😂😂
I don’t think it’s a good idea to use product as will never come off completely, then when you cook after that will have it in your food, better use vinegar and water spray
Takes to long got be a better way
Not sure what the hell you’re cooking in there but it’s not being done right if it t dirty, we give ours a quick wipe after every cooking session, never let it get that dirty, surprised you didn’t drop down dead of the lurg
Why stick to 750ml hot water? I’d be a devil and put more in 😈

I just can't stand people making home videos on their own kitchen with disposable gloves on! The rubber ring on the lid is coming off for cleaning.
