I’ve got the 60,000 version of this on my pond. It’s a brilliant filter I think. I call it the poor man’s drum 😂 It’s so easy to live with and clean though 👍🏼

Hello, I have oase 40000 installed and after the first start the water level is not above the filters. it's good? Thank you. Nice video

At the bottom of the sponges there is a plastic channel that all link up - I assume that let’s water through after it’s gone through the sponge. One of my sponges has a cap on the end of this channel. What end of the filter is it supposed to go in?

sometime at the bottom of my pond there are leave and dirt, I been using a water vaccum and suck them out it this good for it ?? my pond is a wood box above ground hold 600 gallons water.

My pond is small with all ponds solution cup filter. Cleaning the sponge was impossible, I couldn’t get the silt off it in a bucket of pond water. I’m wondering if just the sponge can be ‘cleaned’ with tap water with an equaliser added then sat in a bucket of pond water. Thoughts please.

If you can’t clean the filter internally take the sponge out and rinse it in pond water it’s best to avoid tap water as the bacteria can be a little sensitive to the small amounts of chlorine in the tap water or perhaps invest in a better filter if possible

How often do you change the Phosless cartridges? And, is there an cost-effective alternative you would recommend?

Never to be fair once the filters mature it will look after itself, plants etc we recommend for phosphates etc thnx for comment

69 Like now I know how to do it right. Been taking all the spune out and super clean them.... doing it the hard way hate life... Great video thanks for share ..

Hi great video Im in the process of building a koi pond which will be around 13500 litres,ive scanned youtube on information about which filter to buy and quite frankly its giving me a headache lol,i like the look of this 90000 oase but if you dont mind would it be possible to advise if this is suitable because ive noticed theres a 60000 version too. The youtube koi people all seem to go for nexus,eazypod etc but i havent really heard alot about these so it does worry me a bit,any advise would be so helpful because i dont want to get it wrong. Ps really like the way they are cleaned out hence the big interest. Thanks Mark.

Hi Mark sorry for the delay. The manufactures all say the filters will do more than in reality. Quite often you will find the filter box will be the same size but they just increase the size of the uv. The 60k version and the previous are. The same size, the 90k is an actual larger box is what I would go for if your budget can allow. They are good filters and yes you can clean them pretty easily without making too much mess which is always a plus! Thanks for the comment

Hi just built a 2400 gallon pond ..I’ve watched your videos and noticed you just say it how it is..I am shopping around for a filter but keep getting told different things ..wot filter system would you recommend..will possibly have about 10 koi

I would say any filter with a min rating of 6000 gallons or so, buy the biggest you can afford, have plants, don’t over feed or over stock and you can’t go wrong cheers

If your cleaning this once a month then I would hate to be the fish in the pond, if your not cleaning your filter and doing your water change at least once a week your not doing it right !

Thanks for comment. You do realise that fish don’t live in clean water naturally so how would they prefer it lol. Just because it’s not clear or “clean” doesn’t mean it’s not healthy. To keep your water healthy and clear, usually means you should only clean the filters before they block to prevent them from blocking.

Mulm and detritus are not inherently bad for fish. As long as all the chemical waste is being cycled the fish’s health is not jeopardized. It may take a week for your water quality to need a water change, but not every setup will hit that limit at the same rate.

You shouldn’t be doing water changes unless there is something really wrong. Only do that in fish tanks. You actually do your pond a disservice if you are removing a lot of water every week. It can’t build up its natural bacteria, you keep flushing it out making it go into a bloom again while it settles. I don’t do that even after winter, I just clean the filters, and add good seasonal bacteria.
