I swear you're an angel... I used to live in the UK and there's a lot of people with difficult live stories where their apartments have spiraled out of control. I suppose maybe even more than in Finland, as the society is different and certainly not very supportive.

@@camillayoung1975 I think for some things like moldy pillows and duvets there is sometimes no other way than to throw them away and replace them... I saw her do it a few times in the videos. Makes sense, too, once it becomes a biohazard, it's better to dispose of it.

Those who say these homes are staged have never had to live in homes like this. Depression is a terrible thing and it makes people not want to do anything. When they realize they need to clean, it gets overwhelming and that makes them not able to clean, so it just keeps getting worse. I love that you help these people. I had to move my 22 year old son home last December. He was diagnosed with bipolar depression. It is far beyond depression. His apartment was worse then the ones I see her clean. I had to clean his apartment in one day and get his stuff out. It was very hard. I had to bring laundry and dishes to my home dirty. It took me over a week to wash all his dirty laundry. Everything he owned. Smelled so bad I had to wash many loads 2 or 3 times. I help him keep his room clean in my house now. It is still to hard for him to just pick things up or just get out of bed. I just finished having cancer. Then he mived home. A few minths ago I had a stroke. Every time I go to the hopspital, for daily migraines, I come home to a big mess. But I am happy my sin is getting help and meds still.

@@JoJo-op5xy There is a HUGE difference between high-functioning and low-functioning depression. You could even fall somewhere in the middle. So if you are using the "trick" to pick up after yourself then you definitely aren't low-functioning. It can get so bad that you no longer shower or even get up to use the bathroom. You should really open your mind and realize that just because you haven't experienced something so debilitating, doesn't mean someone else hasn't either.

@@JoJo-op5xydepression is a spectrum maybe you and I can pick stuff after ureselves but some people can't shower, eat, and hardly stay alive, think about it in any other sickness. someone with a high fever, they can't think straight, you wouldn't tell someone with high fever "why don't you just pick after yourself" because you know they can't you know they are fighting for their lives. you might feel empty lost, in pain, and in despair as well but it's not so bad that you are pretty much disabled, which is great, I'm glad for you that you never got that bad, but some people do, and judging them only make the problem worst.

Losing a loved one, living through a traumatic event, or dealing with depression can complicate life. But she shows us that it's okay to reach out for help. It can start with cleaning, talking to someone, or reaching out for help. A step forward today is a step further than yesterday.

Auri, I’m from Michigan, USA. and have been binge watching your videos! It’s amazing to me that you get to rinse the sink, toilet and floor off in the bathroom when cleaning. That’s so satisfying! Here in the US we don’t often have drains in the bathroom floor or surfaces you can just spray off. A lot of these homes also look so similar and we don’t have that here either. Very white and simple. Anyway, you are super inspirational!!

Granted, Aurikatariina does clean some extremely filthy homes, but I definitely relate to the messes she cleans up. You can’t adequately stage the garbage, dirt, mold and dust. Hi Auri: I live in the USA and love your videos!!! I grew up before the internet was a thing...as a matter of fact; we didn't have color TV when I was born. I did have an uncle who married-for love-to a girl who was 15 years old, and they were together until my uncle died of cancer about 15 years ago. His wife was not much of a cook or housekeeper because she was just a child herself, so their home was really dirty. It was so bad that their children were taken away from them. I wasn't even a teenager at the time, but I spent a summer with them before I went to junior high school and cleaned their home. They weren't hoarders or anything like that, but their home was full of trash and had never been properly cleaned. The summer I stayed with them I cleaned their entire home and washed all their dishes. Your videos bring back memories of just how much I love cleaning really dirty homes. As I grew into adulthood, I realized just how much I love cleaning and how therapeutic it was for me. I am recently retired after working for 45+ years and I love that I have time to clean and organize my home like I have wanted to all my life. My first marriage ended in divorce, and I went back to school so I could support myself and my children as a single mom. So many times, I was overwhelmed with trying to work and go to school fulltime so I could earn a living wage. I remarried after my baby was 11 years old, still working fulltime and then started over raising a child from my second marriage. I was active not only as a working mom but in church also. I had no time to do any of the housework that I needed and wanted to do. My spouse worked 6 days a week and being in the family of the pastor of our church put an even greater burden on me as a working mom. Cleaning was the only therapy I had because I could always see the results/benefits of my labor. If I had been born 30 years later, I could have been much more successful doing what you do today! As fate would have it, I spent 5 years at university to earn less than I did as a factory worker. It wasn't until I was in my late 40's that I was aware of the internet and another 10 to 15 years that You Tube was even beginning to become well known. From my own life experience, I know that what you do is needed and so beneficial to those who can't keep up with the demands of daily life. If I weren't in my mid 60's now, I would love to be doing what you are doing now!!! That would be my dream job if I were in my 20's, 30's or even 40's now. Keep doing what you are doing because there are so many people out there who need you and if you ever find yourself in the foothills of NC, USA-and need a follower to help with cleaning just let me know. I may not be as young as you, but I sure do love to clean a filthy house and I have all the time in the world to get it done.

My depression kept me from cleaning my kitchen and I've been eating out a lot. I used to cook and keep a clean kitchen. Every room is clean in my house, but that kitchen 😩After seeing this video my kitchen is NOT bad and this inspired me to clean. Happy I clicked on this video. 💞

I really appreciated & loved how you explained depression and cleaning the house. You are exactly right. My home isn't like your shows, but I do have to push myself to keep it up. I've had depression since I was 12, so I get it. Thank you for all that you do for people. God Bless you and keep you.

Thank you for making these videos, I truly can’t overstate just how impactful and comforting this is to people living like this. My home was very dysfunctional and very dirty when I was a kid, so I had gotten used to the smell of mold and the health issues it causes before I even hit double digits. It does terrible things to your self esteem and motivation. While I’m no longer at a point where opening my bedroom door meant covering all the holes in my face so gnats wouldn’t fly in, I still often struggle taking care of myself. This morning I woke up struggling to breathe properly, my face felt incredibly dry and my nose had bled overnight. I’ve been avoiding cleaning the one source of mold present in my room-despite how embarrassing it is, mold scares me so much. It brings back a lifetime of bad memories. Smelling it is distressing, but looking and getting near it is even more distressing, so it ends up being a vicious cycle of making excuses. watching your videos helps ease me into beginning to clean and approaching mold without fear. cleaning has always been so stressful for me but you do it in such a way where it doesn’t feel like there’s anything to be distressed about. ❤

i hope you are feeling healthier and have a healthier home to live in as you continue to battle your fear. i’m proud of you! mold is so, so scary, but letting it fester is even scarier.

@@AlexisTwoLastNames thank you for such a kind response, I really needed this :’) I’ve been going back to these videos a lot lately to ease into cleaning my surroundings more, since summer is often a very difficult time for my mental health and can lead to awful self care. have a great day and if you yourself are struggling with anything h related to cleaning, know that it’s a step-by-step process and it’s entirely possible to get through :]
