Thank you for producing this. I had no idea. Sounds like Coach Hill is as good a man as he is a coach.

Turns out words, and sound in general, are good for telling a story

Great video. It’s really interesting how many current BYU coaches have their roots at the University of Utah with Coach Whittingham. Kinda fitting and kinda ironic that back in 2005 when Whittingham turned down the BYU head coaching position to remain at the U and has built such a massively successful program, is now basically responsible for both coordinators on BYU’s staff as well as the head coach of course. An underrated coach (Whittingham) has an underrated coaching tree (including Brian Johnson).

While acknowledging Whittingham's coaching success, I wasn't happy when BYU was pursuing him and was glad that he didn't accept the position. One can be a churchgoing Latter-day Saint and yet not a good fit for BYU. I mean, he won't even address BYU by its name or initials. To me, that's a certain level of childishness that just isn't a fit in such a high profile role that is effectively expected to be a major representative of living LDS principles. And there are other things I have seen him do, et cetera, that also make me feel that BYU dodged a bullet. Kalani hasn't yet proven to be a fantastic coach, but he has a number of qualities that *do* make him a good fit for BYU. I just hope he continues to improve as a head coach.
