Decoupling With Time: Answer to Failing Composites #LearningWithMIK
Let's discover the power of 5 minutes...
In the fast-paced world of dentistry, where time seems to slip away with each patient, embracing the art of slow dentistry becomes a powerful tool in our pursuit of destressing and achieving optimal patient care.
By consciously detaching ourselves from the constraints of the clock, we can create an environment where stress melts away, and tranquility takes center stage. This is of utmost importance when treating Class II cavities with composites, as failure rates are highest with this configuration
Imagine a dental experience where appointments are not governed by rigid timeframes, but rather by a focus on patient comfort and well-being. In this video I explain the hirarchy of bondability and the power of taking it easy. I am confident this will change the way you look at your composite fillings...
So, let us embrace the power of decoupling with time, as we create a dental haven where stress dissipates, and smiles flourish. Together, we can redefine the dental experience, offering a haven of serenity for our valued patients.

Very true, decoupling is an established concept, it needs patience and the best way would be to put a timer for 5 minutes.

Thank you for this amazing presentations. For this one I have a question: if we do not wait and directly insert the layer of composite but model it for at least 5 minuntes until curing does this count as waiting?

Is the amount of time for decoupling same for 5th generation and 7th generation bonding agent?
Sir please make a video on affected and infected dentine. How much should we drill as the black and brown lesions moslty don't end till the pulp 🥴
Amazing tip but I tend to use the chip blower more often after applying bond then the 3 way syringe as many a times it releases moisture .
Sir, I have one doubt ....after curing bonding agent....do we have to put the increament in cavity and then wait OR we have to wait ryt after curing bonding agent for few minutes and then do the increament ??? Thanks in advance 🙏
And where is the science behind this?
