Ken, just wanted to thank you for this video, I just brought out my minc machine after buying it a year ago. I couldn't find the instructions so went first to KZread to find out about it. I went to your videos and loved the part about printing out a card from my laser printer. I did that and was wowed at the simplicity of the card and how special it looked. Thank you for spending your time to inform us novices. BTW, I love the addition of Sean on your other videos.

+Karen Holroyd Thanks.....I do have certain catch phrases I say myself that I am working on. :)
Ken, this is the 5th time I have watched this video. I ordered about $60 worth of deco foil products, and I am waiting for it to arrive. Tell deco foil to hire you full time.
Hi Ken: Just a little suggestion to add to your video here. Once you have used your foil to make something, let's say your star you used in this presentation. Take a piece of card stock at an appropriate size for a project, cover it with double sided tape. Now take the protective sheet of the other side of the tape and apply the foil with the negative imagine of the start. Burnish it as usual and remove the excess foil. This will leave you with what appears to be a foil background with a negative Star imagine. Remember, that negative star imagine is sticky....so apply another color foil to that space and burnish and removed. You know have a two tone foil image. The mind can go wild with variations to this technique.Jacee.

+John C Mullins WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!!. I love when people add onto my videos!!! I hope people read the comments for this nugget!
I've used the foil several times, but never knew about the trick with the laser printer and laminator. I have used the liquid that you used at the end to make designs on the larger Christmas light bulbs, then applied the foil after the liquid had dried. I then made Christmas ornaments with those light bulbs. They turned out really cute. Thanks for this great video!
So many different ways to add gold...just discovered this. Good work. 3M Laminating machine

Your ideas are helpful, insightful and best of all they SAVE MONEY!!!! Thank you so much for making a video that is easy to understand and follow without talking "down" to your audience.
Thanks for sharing these techniques, Ken. I've tried to use these before with a special glue & made a mess...the mistake I made, I realize now after seeing your video, is that I didn't give the glue time to dry. I will try it again soon & post the results. I just stumbled upon your video this morning & I like your presentation style. I must add you to my subscribe list & I can't wait to see more videos.
Ken!!! My new and wonderful friend! I recently discovered the foiling technique for card making....loving it!! And this video has me even more excited about it! A lot of great and inexpensive ways to create beautiful cards with foil. Thanks for sharing!!!

I just bought the deco foil in the hugely popular rose gold color & was worried that I'd have to go to staples for toner sheets, but not after seeing your awesome video; thanks so much for the adhesive idea as I do not have a laser printer, I do have a heat laminator but now I won't have to go to Staples to make toner sheets, but maybe on special occasions I will.

Ken I just found this video and I fell in love. I have a Two Cows laminator from Costco, and I paid about $18 and I found the secret for using mine was to let it heat up for about 20 minutes then they all came out great..It's amazing and looks so spectacular.. thanks Ken..I don't know how I missed this one but I finally found it.. lol pat

Judy Dickson Hello Judy...I had a Two Cows but what Ken was saying is that he had the same problem as I did with mine. when we allowed it to head for about 25 minutes and let it get warm that it worked better and pretty good. My laminator was only about $18 and that's a lot cheaper than the $150 to $175. The expensive ones can heat up faster but they are more tricky to work with from what I was reading. I don't mind the cheaper ones. They don't get as hot but they work. I just have to plug it in about 25 minutes before I'm ready to work with it. pat

Just saw this video the other day, purchased a monochrome laser printer and laminator. I tried to create the card with the candy cane but not sure how to attach the candy cane to the card in Cricut Design Space. After printing when put back through the Cricut for cutting it cut out the candy cane separately from the card. The foiling however worked great. Thanks for the video, I am learning so much.

Ken thanks so much for this video. I purchased the Anna Griffin Minc on HSN but it is going back since it's defective. Now instead of another I'm going to try using the scotch laminator. I have 6 rolls of the minc foil so I hope they work though I ordered a package of the deco foil to try. This fits my budget so much better. You are such an inspiration. Thanks for the great video! Do you happen to know if you could apply the transfer adhesive using a stamp? (apply the adhesive to the stamp, then stamp the paper) I'm curious as to whether it would clean up from the stamp or ruin it. Thanks again.
i just saw the new foil transfer that brother has for the scan n cut 2. I think the glue pen will be next for other projects. i love that i don't have to buy a new big machine......, just the speedy kit... never on sale. i did make plans on doing the foil via my still in the box laser printer and my new barely used thermal laminator. then one of the craft stores clearances out lots of foil... yeah me, for future use. great job on all your videos

Thanks for this video! I used the Minc Foil and I don't get a consistent foil look (spots of black) - do you think it's my laminator or printer?
Did you find that the thickness of the cardstock that the image was printed on made a difference? What about not using a carrier sheet?
