Any reason why you pull something from a declutter is valid. Even if you'll never use it again, but if just owning it and looking at it makes you happy, is a valid enough reason to hold on. It's your cash, your home and your collection to enjoy.

I also have my palettes numbered now as I have so many. And now I just use random number generator and whatever comes up is the palette I use that day. It has helped me use my palettes. And if I need something else I will pull in a single shadow or a duo. It's been working well and also gets me to wear dif clothes too as I try to match lol

I am totally gonna try this. My collection hovers at 70-80 palettes, but this includes everything including quads, minis etc. I find it quite manageable and often use my palettes in pairs (for some reason, I got into the habit and can't stop!), but I still find myself going through phrases of concentrating on a few pairs at a time, for months on end. I think a random generator would be good for me too!

If you have the storage space and looking at your things makes you smile, who cares if you have many items? I have too.many blushes and keep buying them but looking at my little box where they stand all together divided by formula and colour makes me feel good. Every morning I pick and choose what I want to use that day. By the way I bought one of those liquid blushes from Apieu and I like it. Thanks for recommending.

Well I be honest. At first I was like man I watch declutter videos to help me declutter and then find out it wasn't really a declutter.. but now I sitting here like man I wish when I did my declutters that I waited a few before I got rid of them cause there for sure a few palettes I wish I had that I miss!!

I still get rid of plenty of things, but 2 - 3 things per category often make it back into my makeup collection after having it sit around for a bit.

I feel the same about Baroque. I had an epiphany when I pulled out an old Tarte Rainforest of the Sea palette to travel with thinking it’s old and I’ll get rid of it after. Well. Wow, the quality is as good if not better than any of my luxury palettes so I checked the label and it’s made in Italy. I know there is more than one factory in Italy and different formulas but I’m going to factor that into future decisions.

Exactly, even though it is old, it can still be good makeup for sure! And such a shame to get rid of.

Hi Maaike I’m not someone who really declutters regularly 😂. If I buy something that I really don’t like or have a skin reaction to, then I pass it on very quickly. However if I like it ok then I’ll probably keep it around for ages😂. In fairness I don’t buy a huge amount of makeup in a year and I consider my purchases pretty carefully, so I don’t have too many duds tbh. The last palette I bought is the ND Xenon (apart from the recent Zoeva quad), so I don’t think it’s an excessive amount as such. I reach for it when I want greys and I like greys most of the year. Summer I tend to use greys less, but Winter is where I use them much more often. I’m so pale and so cool toned that the different shades do look different on me, so although everyone else seems to hate it I like mine. The only issue I have is all the glitter ✨ as even with glitter glue some of them fall down my face. I still have some older palettes that might be past their best but they’re not mouldy or smelly etc and I still like them. I have got rid of some that I wasn’t happy with the quality eg Catrice or Essence, but overall I have most of what I bought over the last few years. I don’t have a massive collection so I don’t have to declutter for space etc and I’m not ready to get rid of them. You’re allowed to change your mind about keeping something as it’s your money and your collection. I think declutters don’t take into account the money spent on the products and are very much a social media phenomenon. Best wishes x

Oh declutters are definitely mostly for show for some people. And so much easier to do if all your products have been sent for free in PR.

Beautiful look, Maaike! I may have to buy LE Velvet Morning- funny, I knew what it was before I checked. It’s a gorgeous fiery red for summer! I think you’re wise to “store” your makeup away when considering a declutter. It’s okay to hold on to things you love or have a purpose for, or , for that matter, just want to keep… to keep. It’s really no one’s business but yours. Great video!!

It is such a good bright shade and we are finally having summer so it was time to wear a bright red lip.

Aether is back already. I bought most of their pallets for like $7 usd when they shut down their site. They have the same pallets back but at full price. Nothing new since a week or two ago.

Maybe try using the Persona Identity ! & 2 together and think of them as 1 palette in 2 parts.
