I'm not sure if anyone has said this already, but I just adore with how the song plays with the ideas of fake friends and only being perceived through the eyes of people who don't really care about you. Its like a cry for how much potential a person could have thats simply overlooked because of how the people around them end up actually seeing them. Its childish and he even says so in the lyrics.

isn't this about how teens are treated as kids, but are expected to act like adults? It sums up the angst at the end of the song when he says "you think you're funny, when you're talking all loud and your nose is all runny". It's like when you're arguing with your parents but they won't listen to what you're saying, they're belittling you so you get so frustrated you get teary eyed and a runny nose but you try to hold your tears back. I'm pretty sure the whole " humongous " thing is being ironic, given the fact that teens don't have much say in certain things. "Don't tell me I'm not, I'm not smart or I'm not worthy I know, I couldn't let that go And then tag me along with your hate and with your envy I swear to God I cannot take you anywhere", the envy part. Parents sometimes pressure their kids to do stuff they wanted to do when they were younger but never got the chance, so possibly the envy of youth and being sort of care free?? I'm not sure about these annotations but that's what I got from it

I didn't say Declan's songs are bad, they're just definitely not experimental, that doesn't make it bad in any way. In fact, I don't even like experimental music, it's so boring. Dear Declan, I know you won't see this and I don't really think anybody in the comments will but I just have to say that I have been listening to your music since 2015 and I just really hope that your music gets big and humongous ( see what I did there) and I just wish you the best and I hope you don't become one of those void pop singers because it's just something about your music that is different and original and Dec you'll be huge in the next couple years.
