Freddie was a private person and a sensitive brilliant man who kept his opinions on religion, sexuality and politics to himself and didn't abuse his platform like the egomaniacal entertainers of today. There will never be another mega talented and class act like Freddie Mercury.

Sadly, I didn’t really discover FREDDY MERCURY until I was 70 yrs old. Prior to that, although I recognized the big stadium hits like WE WILL ROCK YOU and Bohemian Rhapsody, I wasn’t big into Rock bands. When the movie about Queen came out is when I discovered FREDDY. THEN, I FELL IN LOVE . I deeply regret that I never saw QUEEN live when they came to NY. I ADORE THE BAND AND I ADORE FREDDY MERCURY. I CANT GO A DAY WITHOUT LISTENING TO QUEEN. Completely agree- while he never denied or hid his sexual preference he was also an intensely private person who did not want to talk about or discuss his private life because it was just that- private. As you hear from those very close to him he was never ashamed of who he was he lived his life his way but he was never interested in becoming some political icon or pin up figure either. It was always about the music, the band and the fans that was what he loved talking about and he gave everything to it which is why every single person who was at one of Queens concerts had such mad love for him, the music and the band. He is legendary because of his immense talent that captivated and inspired billions around the world THAT is his legacy and what he wanted to be remembered for and his wishes like his music and achievements should be respected. Love you Freddie ❤

Does anyone actually think Freddie Mercury would have joined any group and cried out for sexual orientation? For him it was the most private act ever. Before anyone accuses me of anything, as long as something is done voluntarily / sex of any kind should be OK and not punishable. But to grab one as an organization, and then even a dead one, as a "pioneer" is simply cheeky. An organization that has managed to ridicule its legitimate concern through a large number of actions. Actions that often only stand for carnival for outsiders. So sexual freedom in dictatorships etc. is done a disservice. Freddie Mercury and many others would not be taken in by this organization, at least this ..... "public relations".

He is reported to have said "I'm as gay as a daffodil". And who cares?? We love him whether he was gay as a daffodil or straight as an arrow. He was just a wonderful Freddie!

@@nanaprn7809 true.. IDC at all....gay as a daffodil means nothing because how gay is a daffodil?😊he never commented on his sexuality,as we both agree who cares..but in those days as a Rock band he protected the others,Queen as a whole.

The guy with the purple shirt is the most DISRESPECTFUL person!!! What the heck was his point and what was he thinking? Obviously he wasn’t.

@@midnightrose2127 He was a radio personality and he was no friend of Freddie's. For Paul,, also a a gay man to claim that Freddie as much as told him he didn't care if he got AIDS or gave it to others was a despicable thing to say. Mary said Freddie was terrified of AIDS and we'll never know how he contracted it.

I wish he hadn’t chosen the route if destroying himself. God gave him an amazing talent, but his desires literally destroyed him. Sad

Why do people persist in calling him Freddy on here? Is it an American thing, or are most KZreadrs halfwits? It's *FREDDIE* ffs

Freddie would invite men back to Garden Lodge, and would get them to blow their noses into his mouth. He would then gargle with the snot.
