December 31 - Anthony Hopkins about his acting philosophy.
Born in Margam, Port Talbot, West Glamorgan, Wales in the UK on December 31, 1937 Anthony Hopkins trained in RADA. Under the mentorship of Laurence Olivier, he bloomed on stage before leaving for the States on tour with “ Equus” where he launched an international movie career.
Sir Anthony Hopkins is also a painter, a musician and has been teaching from time to time, notably at the John Ruskin School of Acting, grounded in the Meisner Technique.
His filmography including “The Silence Of The Lambs”, “The Father”, “The World's Fastest Indian”, “Hannibal”, “Proof”, “Hitchcock”, ”The Remains of The Days”, “Howards End", “84 Charing Cross Road”, etc…

I love the way he says do your best we are only human. That alone to hear for an actor is so relaxing for another young actor. A little ego to pursue your passion and alot to destroy is what I took from this wise man.

Being an actor has taught me much of what I know about how to Be in the world. Very grateful for the lessons it’s taught me but it is a tough life. Often, by its nature, challenging on the mind and the mental health day-to-day, great lessons if you can stick with it.

Sir Ben Kingsley, even if he has had some more silly roles he also has had some extremely important roles. Itsak Stern and Ghandi comes to mind, just off the cuff.

@@OriginalPuro Just off the cuff, Harvey Keitel maybe Pacino or DeNiro? There not the best of all time, but pretty good. Hopkins is terrific like Daniel Day Lewis, Very good. Tom Hanks? no comment, sorry.
