    In other sports they are finally starting to recognize that these guys truly are the pinnacle of athletics. Of course there are always going to be some arrogant sods that don’t, but they are meaningless anyway. Decathletes are truly the most amazing of any sports figures.

    Had a chance to train with Damian Warner. He has so much pride and passion. He’s a great respect for his coaches (who gave up teaching to train him full time) glad to see where he is know in the athletic world

    A flat 8k would only get you 15th at this meet. That is some steep competition.

    Well yeah, the 1500m is probably the only event in the deca where training for it probably hurts their performances in all the other events

    @@antlee720 That's not the point. Did you figure that the winner is slower than best marathonians ? 4:22 is a teenager regional level performance. Tired or not, this is really weak. But I guess, that's because the qualities required to performed on 1500, very strong aerobic capacity and resistance, are not very usefull for other decathlon events. In training, choices must be done ;)

    nah 1500m definitely is their worst... some of them were clearing 5.10 pretty easily but they were losing to a lot of high school freshmen with 4:30+ in the 1500 lmao
